NoSQL databases outperform the traditional RDBMS due to their faster retrieval of large volumes of data, scalability, and high performance. The need for these databases has been increasing in recent years because data collection is growing tremendously. Structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data storage is allowed in NoSQL, which is not possible in a traditional database. NoSQL needs to compensate with its security feature for its amazing functionalities of faster data access and large data storage. The main concern exists in sensitive information stored in the data. The need to protect this sensitive data is crucial for confidentiality and privacy problems. To understand the severity of preserving sensitive data, recognizing the security issues is important. These security issues, if not resolved, will cause data loss, unauthorized access, database crashes by hackers, and security breaches. This paper investigates the security issues common to the top twenty NoSQL databases of the following types: document, key-value, column, graph, objectoriented, and multi-model. This thesis studies sailors who worked onboard British and North American slave ships between 1750 and 1808. Its starting point is the discrepancy between maritime historiography and that of the slave trade: in the former seamen appear as radical, anti-authoritarian figures who were far more accepting of black men and women than other occupational groups in this era. In slave trade literature, by contrast, sailors appear as shadowy figures ready to do the captain's bidding, which generally meant abusing, maltreating and assaulting men and women of African origin. Through detailed analysis of the lives and working conditions of those who were lowly employees in the slave trade, it is possible to see that the much-vaunted radicalism of seamen as a group grew at least in part from their work onboard 'guinea ships'. Freedom and fair payment for labour were hardly unconnected to slavery and the slave trade, and sailors who were involved in the delivery of slaves to the Americ...

These three little Roman statuettes from the 1st to 2nd century B.C. correspond to the pieces shown in the exhibition "Apocalypse". The texts deal with the files published in the catalog published on the occasion of that exhibition.

Estas tres puequeñas estatuillas romanas de los siglos I - II B.C. corresponden a las piezas mostradas en la exposición "Apocalipsis". Los textos tratan de las fichas publicadas en el catálogo editado con ocasión de aquella muestra.

Μια αναψηλάφηση ενός ανάγλυφου ναΐσκου της Μητέρας των Μεγάλων Θεών από την Αμφίπολη, φιλοτεχνημένου στα χρόνια της καθίδρυσης του ιερού μνημείου του Καστά κατά τον 4ο π.Χ. αιώνα. Αναζητώντας τους Μεγάλους Θεούς, την ταυτότητα της Μητρός, την ερμηνεία του λέοντος και της μεσόμφαλου φιάλης, υπό το πρίσμα κραταιών ελληνικών παραδόσεων, ως προς την αρχαία θεολογία, κοσμογονία και ζωογονία. The Arcanum mission is a proposed L-class spacecraft that highlights the revolutionary approach which can now be taken to future space mission design. Using the case of the SpaceX Starship vehicle and in particular the high mass and volume characteristics of this launcher, the feasible large size of future missions, even with high delta-V transfer requirements, are analysed. A demonstrator vehicle, designed to support a large and capable science platform with multiple components, is detailed, clearly showing the range and depth of science goals that will be answerable thanks to the current revolution in super heavy-lift launch vehicles.

Resumen. El descubrimiento de Neptuno fue uno de los mayores logros de la astronomía del siglo XIX. Armados con las herramientas del cálculo y con las observaciones del movimiento anómalo de Urano, Adams y Le Verrier determinaron, independientemente, la posible ubicación y masa de un hipotético planeta, lo que llevaría a su descubrimiento observacional. En este artículo me propongo demostrar que los métodos empleados por estos estaban influenciados por el método de análisis y síntesis de Newton. Mostraré, además, algunos principios epistemológicos generales de la astronomía que se pueden extraer cuando consideramos estos métodos de investigación. Abstract. The discovery of Neptune was one of the greatest achievements of nineteenth-century astronomy. Using nothing but calculus and some observations of the Uranus' anomalous motion, Adams and Le Verrier got to determine, independently, the possible place and mass of a hypothetical planet, which would produce its observational discovery. In this paper I will demonstrate that the methods used by these astronomers were influenced by Newton's method of analysis and synthesis. Considering this, I will also expose, that some astronomy's general epistemological principles could be deduced when we consider these investigation methods.

A combination of a network of underground tunnels at Cappadocia and the availability of tin, copper, gold, bronze and steel from Minoan traders throughout Europe was represented by a Trojan maze.
If this theory is correct, the earliest representation would be 2000 BC, on both sides of the Atlantic. It would end in 1445 BC in North America, but continue in Europe until the siege of Troy in 1200 BC.

In this abstract I try to verify the iconography interpretation of one of the most significant works in the history of amber art and propose a new way of reading the mythological themes depicted in the casket from the collections of the Castle Museum in Malbork. For several decades, the work has been ascribed to Christoph Maucher – one of the greatest sculptors in amber and ivory.  Christoph Maucher (1642 - 1706/7) was born in Schwäbisch Gmünd (fig. 2) and already there he and his younger brother Johann Michael received the first sculpture lessons in his father's workshop (Ehmer 1992: 21). Around 1670 Christoph arrived in Danzig, where he worked until his death. The title casket with rich, baroque forms is constructed of glued multi-colored amber plates, which are only partially supported by wooden structures and numerous sculptural elements. This masterpiece was made by Maucher in Danzig in the late 17th Century. The casket is surmounted by a group of three seated female figures and their accompanying putto with a dog.  A triad of female characters is a common topos in the visual arts, think, for example, of the Charites (Graces), Nereids, and Horae, Morai, Hesperides or three Goodess. The three seated women crowning the casket are clearly friends, not competitors. They are not looking for a man, but are focused on each other. So the scene can not be The Judgement of Paris, as some researchers have suggested. The story of the sisters Hesperides become very popular since 16th Century. They were also always depicted with personifications of the rivers or lakes. Early modern graphiks show the Nymphs bringing exotic fruits as well oranges, as citrus and lemons, to Italy. To sum up, my interpretation of the caskets’s iconography (fig. 37) is based on a comparative analysis of the piece with Early Modern graphic art or monumental sculpture. Artists who created such sophisticated examples of handicraft often used pre-existing models. Assuming that such a precisely detailed casket was a wedding gift, the presence of the Hesperides on the lid justifies the use of all the components in the piece’s ornamentation.

The interiors of Neptune and Uranus are believed to be primarily composed of a fluid mixture of methane and water. The mixture is subjected to pressures up to several hundred gigapascal, causing the ionization of water. Laboratory and simulation studies so far have focused on the properties of the individual components. Here we show, using first-principle molecular dynamic simulations, that the properties of the mixed fluid are qualitatively different with respect to those of its components at the same conditions. We observe a pressure-induced softening of the methane-water intermolecular repulsion that points to an enhancement of mixing under extreme conditions. Ionized water causes the progressive ionization of methane and the mixture becomes electronically conductive at milder conditions than pure water, indicating that the planetary magnetic field of Uranus and Neptune may originate at shallower depths than currently assumed.

The magnetic fields of Uranus and Neptune are not dipole-dominated and are generally more
complex than the other planetary magnetic fields in our solar system. Several hypotheses
have been proposed to explain their nature. Among these, the existence of a deep stably
stratified fluid layer below the dynamo region or a dynamo operating in a large Rayleigh
number turbulent regime are two prominent approaches. Both yield magnetic power spectra
similar to those observed at the ice giants. A stable fluid layer in the deeper interior may also
explain Uranus' low luminosity and could be the signature of a super-ionic water phase
(Stanley and Bloxham, 2004). Dynamo action in a turbulently convecting ice layer, on the
other hand,  also explains the surface heat flow pattern and zonal flow structure, which shows
a retrograde equatorial jet flanked by prograde jets (Soderlund et al., 2013).
Here we present 3D numerical dynamo models based on data from recent ice giant structure
models for the internal density stratification, electrical conductivity profile and aspect ratio. We
aim to compare the proposed hypotheses to constrain the parameters and geometry leading
to magnetic fields that are comparable to those of the ice giants in morphology and strength
by particularly evaluating magnetic power spectra. Furthermore we examine the transition
from prograde to retrograde equatorial jets in the turbulent models.

This paper has the main objective to analise two images of Augustus: the first, a simile in the book I of Aeneid of Vergil; the second, a metaphor in the intaglio that was found in Hadrumetum, today’s Tunisia, and that belongs now to Museum of Fine Arts of Boston. Both images will be analised from the ancient theories about tropos: the Rhetoric and Poetic of Aristotle and the Institutio Oratoria of Quintilian.
The objective of our analysis is to confirm the thesis that the powers of Augustus are partly sustained for several types of representation in different languages: visual and verbal.


O presente trabalho visa a analisar duas imagens de Augusto: a primeira, um símile no canto I da Eneida de Virgílio; a segunda, uma metáfora, presente num intaglio, encontrado em Hadrumetum, atual Tunísia, hoje pertencente ao acervo do Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. As duas imagens serão observadas a partir das teorias antigas acerca dos tropos. De um lado, observada a Retórica e a Poética de Aristóteles, de outro, as Instituições Oratórias de Quintiliano. O objetivo da análise é corroborar a tese de que os poderes de Augusto são, em certa medida, amparados por vária gama de representações em linguagens distintas: a visual e a verbal.

This study reveals the fractal structure of gas giants and their moons. For this purpose, fractal analysis of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and 182 moons was performed based on their radius (size). The results obtained reveal the fractal geometry of the planet / moon systems within the outer Solar system (SS). The resulting fractal dimensions (D) range from -0.57 to -1.43, decreasing with distance from the Sun. This requires a thorough analysis.

Gustav Holst (1874–1934) was a British composer who lived and worked in the period when India became the United Kingdom's colony. Holst accepted the Hindu culture without critical approach, he studied it, and integrated the postulates of Hindu philosophy in his compositions. In addition, that period represented an expansion of new religious, occult, modernist movements, for which Holst became interested. The author considered Hindu philosophic concepts, whose realization in music can be seen in the example of the last movement – Neptune, the Mystic – of the Holst’s composition The Planets (1914–1916). The aim of this text is to accentuate the achievement of illusion in music, as well as the means by which this is achieved.

Increased lipid availability is associated with diminished insulin-stimulated glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in muscle, but it is not clear whether alterations in glycogen synthase activity itself play a direct role. Because intracellular localization of this enzyme is involved in its regulation, we investigated whether fat oversupply causes an inhibitory redistribution. We examined the recovery of glycogen synthase in subcellular fractions from muscle of insulin-resistant, fat-fed rats and chow-fed controls, either maintained in the basal state or after a euglycaemic-hyperinsulinaemic clamp. Although glycogen synthase protein and activity were mostly recovered in an insoluble fraction, insulin caused translocation of activity from the smaller soluble pool to the insoluble fraction. Fat-feeding, which led to a reduction in glycogen synthesis during the clamp, was associated with a depletion in the soluble pool, consistent with an important role for this component. A similar d...
