El proyecto Enlaces Móvil 2.0: Tecnología Portátil en la Sala de Clases, surge de desarrollos realizados en el marco del proyecto FONDEF D01I1007, “Diseño, Desarrollo e Implementación de Tecnología Portátil para el Mejoramiento de la Calidad y Gestión de la Educación: Educando para reducir la brecha digital” en el cual un equipo de la Universidad Católica desarrolló un sistema tecnológico, consistente en el uso de dispositivos móviles con conexión inalámbrica (PDA) complementado con un ambiente web, que permite apoyar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje sustentando dinámicas colaborativas de aprendizaje dentro de la sala de clase y con contenidos acordes al currículo establecido por el Ministerio de Educación chileno.

Con el apoyo de la Red Enlaces del Ministerio de Educación,
durante el año 2004 se desarrolló un proyecto piloto, el cual dio origen a un modelo pedagógico de uso de esta herramienta tecnológica para apoyar el aprendizaje de la Física. Los resultados de la implementación de éste modelo, llevada a cabo el 2005, se presentan en el siguiente documento.

Learners are becoming increasingly divers. They may have much personal, social, cultural, psychological, and cognitive diversity. Forming suitable learning groups represents, therefore, a hard and time-consuming task. In Mobile Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (MCSCL) environments, this task is more difficult. Instructors need to consider many more issues, such as the rapid change of mobile learners' context, their direct and naturel interaction, and the characteristics of mobile devices and networks. This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) that examines the relevant solutions for the problem of group formation in MCSCL environments. In the context of this SLR, an initial list of 178 papers was reviewed. After careful analysis of each paper using specific selection criteria and a quality assessment method, a final list of 12 relevant studies was filtered and used to answer the research questions. The findings revealed that: (a) there is a lack of approaches addressing the group formation problem in MCSCL environments; (b) the most proposed solutions do not allow instructors to customize the grouping process; (c) there is no useful solutions to automatically capture and evaluate many of learners' behaviours and context information; (d) the majority of approaches do not support a dynamic formation of learning groups; (e) the majority of approaches do not provide descriptions about the implemented grouping algorithms nor about the evaluation methods. Extracted and synthesized data from the selected studies is discussed in this paper, together with current research gaps and recommendations for further works.

Students have different ways for learning and processing information. Some students prefer learning through seeing while others prefer learning through listening; some students prefer doing activities while other prefer reflecting. Some students reason logically, while others reason intuitively, etc. Identifying the learning style of each student, and providing learning content based on these styles represents a good method to enhance the learning quality. However, there are no efforts on how to detect the students' learning styles in mobile computer supported collaborative learning (MCSCL) environments. We present in this paper new ways for automatically detecting the learning styles of students in MCSCL environments based on the learning style model of Felder-Silverman. The identified learning styles of students could be then stored and used at anytime to assign each one of them to his/her appropriate learning group.
