This research provides insights on the key strategic management issues, which lay the basis of a network operator overall competitive strategy. This is done assuming the perspective of a mobile network operator. Through example stemming mainly from the Danish and Italian mobile markets, our paper proposes a model for the management of mobile services, which resembles a lifecycle model. As the Mobile Management Model resembles the rise and fall of network operators, the reader is accompanied on a journey through its four phases. Characteristics of the phases are described in details, and suggestions are derived for optimal strategic behaviors of network operators. The model is supported by evidences from the Danish and Italian mobile markets.

Piracy has been around for a while. The concept has existed since ancient times. Globalization has altered the nature of competition, IT infrastructure flexibility is the essential of today's global competition and Web is the core means of such competition; the Web which is now transformed from a rigid, passive, and reactive circumstance, to a flexible, customized, interactive and people-centric environment. On the other hand, to compete successfully and effectively on a global scale firms need to get the most from many project teams which are distributed across the globe. These distributed teams need to employ IT infrastructure flexibility and exploit collaborative Web 2.0 tools. Based on the literature and the survey which were conducted by the authors, this paper assesses flexibility features in Web 2.0 tools; proposes an interrelated scheme for IT infrastructure and Web 2.0 flexibility, addresses current state of Web 2.0 adoption in globally distributed teams and finally discusses how these components leverage IT infrastructure in distributed teams towards productivity.

Libraries all over the world suffer from common problems like flexibility associated with the digital data, lower levels of efficiency, and huge cost involved in managing the entire IT infrastructure themselves. Few options are available when it comes to collaborating with other libraries as well which is the prime reason for subordinate levels of efficiency. Cloud computing would help us in bridging the gap between digital libraries and IT. Sharing of data among the libraries will in principle reduce the overall cost and increase the efficiency. Capital expenditure done on infrastructure will chiefly be converted into operational expenditure. It will also enhance the users' experience and will help in making the libraries a lot more scalable.

This research investigates the hypothesized relationship between a hospital's IT infrastructure capability and the degree to which hospital can exchange health information. Enhanced information exchange within and between hospitals is currently considered to be critical for modern hospital operations in the big data era. In this research, we build on the resource-based view of the firm to position the deployment and usage of IT capabilities as a unique, valuable, appropriable and difficult-to-imitate resource of value for hospitals. Following the resource-based view of the firm, this study argues IT is a strategic source of value for hospitals. Guided by our research model we test two related hypotheses using Partial least squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on a large-scale cross-sectional dataset of 1155 European hospitals. Results show that IT infrastructure capability is a crucial antecedent of health information exchange. Finally, we found that the degree to which hospitals deploy hospital-wide systems that electronically maintain and share health data and information, i.e., Electronic Medical Records, influences the strength of this particular relationship. These particular findings suggest that although IT investments in hospitals continue to grow, IT plans and strategies to enable health information exchange will require ongoing attention. Hence, our research provides valuable insights into how IT can be targetted and exploited to support capabilities in clinical practice. Specifically, we demonstrate the conditions under which hospitals can leverage their IT resources to enhance levels of patient and health information exchange within the hospital and beyond its boundaries. Abstract: The paper's objective is investigating the relationships between employee engagement factors and organisational development in industrial firms in Jordan. And it aims to address the main question of the study which is Do employee engagement factors influence on organizational development. The study proposed a model that suggests that a significant employee engagement correlated with organizational development. The study used quantitative method approach and survey questionnaire to achieve its goals. The study used regression analysis to analyse the suggested conceptual framework due to the effective use of this method to test the hypotheses of the study. The study's sample was around 250 industrial firms employees represent different private firms operating in industrial zone in Sahab city (Jordan) with a response rate of 88.4 % (221 employees) Pearson correlation and linear regression as well (Confirmatory Factor Analysis) CFA was also used to test the relationships among the variables of the study. The results revealed that the factors of engagement implemented in the organizations had achieved level of development. The findings also found that there were great relationships between employee engagement factors and organisational development. This findings have important implications for management in order to enhance its development, specifically in connection to human resource development and employee's motivation. The study contributes to the academic studies that examined a model consisted of the factors of employee engagement and outcomes.

Practices of developing applications based on SOA principles need to be renovated to meet new requirements for large-scale data processing and to adapt advancements in IT infrastructures in cloud computing. Resource planners will have a significant role as they bridge the development and operation phases in application development. To accomplish these tasks, this paper presents architecture design methods, which reinforce designing and assessing architecture with an applied Design Structure Matrix (DSM). This approach can embrace development of both business logics of applications and IT resources to run them in the cloud and the methods are established through consulting practices on a datacenter.

Cloud computing is a new technology product for providing IT services. Cloud computing is the convergence of verity of technology and devices that come together to transform an organization’s way to building IT infrastructure. Despite all these differences of ways, we found common characteristics of cloud computing which includes massive scalability, ease of allocating resources, and a service management platform. Building on this foundation, cloud providers can deliver a range of services, from infrastructure to platforms to applications and business services.

Most of the Information Systems (IS) research considered Information Technology (IT) as infrastructure flexibility construct in terms of connectivity, compatibility, modularity, and IT personnel competency. Chanopas et al. (2006) expanded the construct by adding other five elements; namely scalability, continuity, rapidity, facility, and modernity. Indeed, since no research validates Chanopas et al.’s (2006) study, which was the first describing a new framework represents IT infrastructure flexibility. The current research aims at examining their investigation on the nine variables that reflect the construct. In addition, as research has neglected the association between IT infrastructure flexibility and firm performance besides some researchers calls (e.g. Chanopas et al., 2006; Tanriverdi, 2006; Fink and Neumann, 2009; Zhang et al., 2009; Bhatt et al., 2010) who emphasised that very little theoretical and practical research occurs on studying the relationships among IT infrastructure flexibility, IT-based competitive advantage, and firm performance. This paper is the first that empirically tested the associations among them. Several statistical techniques were conducted on data collected from a sample of 98 firms. Empirical results did not find a direct relationship between IT infrastructure flexibility and firm
performance. However, causal links were founded between IT infrastructure flexibility and IT-based competitive advantage; and IT-based competitive advantage and firm performance. The conclusions of the current study are provided, and areas for further research are also addressed.

This innovation is changing the Cyberspace into a completely coordinated biological system when detecting, correspondence, and control become perpetually mind boggling. IoT is the developing innovative solution to many problems which is going to change the Internet into a completely incorporated futuristic Internet. The quick development of IOT is because of the advancement in PC’s, various frameworks installed on devices, and other programmable, controlled and organizing gadgets. The principal objective of this paper is real life applications of IoT based observation systems and its related fringe gadgets/gears for boundaries like temperature and force supply and so on by the incorporation of proper equipment. “BOLT” which is an integrated IOT platform, has been used to monitor the physical changes (in this case temperature) 24x7. The proposed model is a temperature monitoring prototype which monitors temperature, predicts it and also detects when the temperature exceeds the threshold value. One of the main use of this prototype is in industries, hence we could say this is a part of IIOT (industrial IOT).

Emerging countries face limitations in implementing a Data-Driven Public Service (DDPS), one of the most critical enablers of the digital transformation process in the government. Government officers are expected to shift to the new paradigm of public value generation; however, those in emerging countries lack tactical tools to assess the level of perceived readiness to provide a DDPS. Therefore, this study addresses the lack of self-assessment tools to diagnose, in the perspective of public servants, readiness to transition to a data-driven public service. We explored the path of underlying factors (interoperability, operational capacity, IT service infrastructure, data governance, data privacy, and security) and how these may measure the civil servant's perception of the organizations’ readiness to transform its operating model into a DDPS one. The model was preliminarily tested with data collected from 845 public servants in an emerging country (Costa Rica). At the current stage, tests yielded valid and reliable results leading to promising implications concerning the influence of operational capacity, data governance, data security, and privacy to drive readiness towards data-driven public service provision in emerging countries. Preliminary results hint that the model may contribute to a scientific yet practical self-assessment tool for public officers in these countries.

ABSTRACT The increasing penetration of renewable intermittent generation imposes challenges on the existing distribution infrastructure and the system operator. New power flow patterns may require changes to control strategies, enhanced distribution automation, enforcement of distribution network infrastructure and/or greater degrees of information management and control according to the active distribution network paradigm (ADN). ADN might improve the quality of service or might lead to a more risky distribution system depending on the reliability of its communication and management system. In order to provide a measure of this risk, the reliability of ADNs operation is assessed in the paper with a pseudo sequential Monte Carlo method. The procedure is used to assess the reliability of a given active distribution network in different real case scenarios.

The livestock data innovation project conducted an online data survey among Uganda livestock stakeholders. The objective of the survey was to understand uses of and concerns about available livestock-related data and indicators. The multiple choice questionnaire was submitted to 189 stakeholders, to which 57 or about 30 percent responded. Almost 88 percent of respondents make use of district level data, which are produced by local governments, followed by national level data (79 percent), usually disseminated either by Uganda bureau of statistics (UBOS) or by Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF). About 71 percent of the respondents use household level data, which are largely, produced by UBOS, for example though the administration of the national panel survey.
