The increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is among the main problems faced by the growth of road transportation in Sao Paulo, the Brazilian city with the highest concentration of vehicles accounting for 28,000 vehicles per 100,000 inhabitants. Electric mobility has the potential to catalyze the development of transport, contributing to mitigate climate change, and support incipient smart cities projects with an adequate electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) network. This study comes up with the mapping of well-suited locations for EVCS by using geographic information system (GIS) analysis in combination with knowledge from a survey conducted with local electric vehicle (EV) experts. The method was tested to meet the increasing demand for EVs in the municipality of Sao Paulo by 2025, assuming the need for around 3,300 EVCS stations to support a penetration of 1 percent of EVs in urban private cars. The aim of the study is to design and implement an OPC-based SCADA system’s physical and software structure model, which controls and supervises systems containing multiple controllers from different commercial companies.Within the scope of the study, we implemented an electro-pneumatic pressing unit as a prototype and designed the operator panel to be used by the operator for handling the pressing process and integrated it into the system.An OPC server-based SCADA system was designed to supervise and control all the Electro-Pneumatic Pressing System, which contains multiple controllers from different commercial brands, which use different industrial communications protocols.

Images captured by onboard cameras on a MAV need to be processed in real time and for this purpose segmentation algorithm is used. On board processing of images is a major challenging task as it involves deciphering images and performing the required operations. In this work, a new image segmentation algorithm has been built using morphological operations, thresholding, edge detection and merging. A detailed analysis has been carried out for choice of appropriate segmentation techniques for design and field-programmable gate array implementation of image segmentation. Software reference model for image segmentation using edge based segmentation and region based segmentation has been developed. The proposed image segmentation algorithm has 17% improvement in Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio values compared to exiting algorithms. The design consumes power of 0.322W and operates at a maximum frequency of 152.26 MHz in FPGA. Implementation in application-specific integrated circuit occupies less area and power and the working frequency is 188.68 MHz nearly 23.9 percent more than FPGA. The designed algorithm can be extended to include video segmentation and the two color segmentation implementation carried out in this work can also be extended to color image segmentation.

In this paper we present recent advances, current and future market trends in industrial robotics. Artificial Intelligence has evolved as the main feature to characterize Industry 4.0, Next-generation robotics utilize this feature to perform tasks collaboratively, as opposed to the currently deployed industrial robots, which were designed mainly for automation, isolated in cages, and highly-controlled environments. Current data show that China takes the lead in the industrial robotics market with 48% of the top-ten market in 2019. The electronics sector took the lead in robot-deployment in East Asia, and is continuously increasing in deploying industrial robotics in other parts of the world. Studies on the challenges associated with this technology, show that the main concern is the lack of trained labor to handle the technologies in next generation industrial robotics.

Optimizing the efficiency of primary and secondary coil configurations for Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer (DWPT) in Electric Vehicles (EVs) requires means for accurate calculation of the mutual inductance in an array of coils. Based on finite element simulation method, we present a quick and accurate method for calculating the energy transfer capabilities of a given DWPT array. By consecutively switching on and off every coil and driving them with a constant current ramp rate, mutual inductances and a coupling coefficient matrix of the whole configuration is easily calculated. This method allows for relatively easy optimization and up-scaling of DWPT systems to multiple arrays of primary and secondary coils as well as implementing various coil designs and configurations. The data acquired using this method may also be used during real-time applications providing indications of vehicle relative alignment.

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID- 19) in the occupied Palestinian territories underpins the adverse effect on public health due to shortages in health-care equipment to contain the spreading. The vulnerable communities amongst women, elderly and children are mostly impacted. Palestinian women endure additional burdens associated with paid and unpaid work, often without consideration or the alleviation of other life responsibilities. With the fact that electrical, electronic and computer technology and engineering is a fast growing, vibrant and promising sector in Palestine, this paper hence assesses the challenges faced by the Palestinian women in this sector during COVID-19 crisis since they also play important roles in upbringing the sector. The paper aims to briefly compare and analyze the results of queries to IEEE Xplore and the leading abstract databases Scopus and Web of Science to identify research trends. Some errors were revealed in the Author Keywords in Web of Science. Therefore, a more detailed analysis that involved comparing various types of key terms was made only for IEEE Xplore and Scopus platforms. The study employed IEEE Access journal metadata as indexed on both platforms. Sample matching for IEEE Xplore and Scopus was achieved by comparing DOI. The IEEE Xplore metadata contains more key term types, which provides an advantage in analyzing research trends. Using NSPEC Controlled Terms from expert-compiled vocabulary provides more stable data, which gives an advantage when considering the change of terms over time. Apriori, an algorithm for finding association rules, was used to compare the cooccurrence of the terms for a more detailed description of sample subjects on both platforms. VOSviewer was used to analyze trends in scientific research based on IEEE Xplore data. The 2011-2021 ten-year period was divided into two sub-intervals for comparing the occurrence of Author Keywords, IEEE Terms, and NSPEC Controlled Terms. Bibliometric data of the IEEE conference proceedings was used to illustrate the importance of context in estimating the growth rate of publishing activity on a topic of interest.

With the advent of microblogging in recent years, people voice their views about products, especially movies. Microblogs are rich sources of data that can be analyzed to derive useful knowledge like larger public opinion on a product, which can be utilized to derive sales performance patterns. In this paper we propose a novel fuzzy approach for evaluating sentiments expressed in microblogs, which are incorporated in text mining methodologies to predict weekly movie revenues.

Local appearance descriptors are widely used on facial emotion recognition tasks. With these descriptors, image filters, such as Gabor wavelet or local binary patterns (LBP) are applied on the whole or specific regions of the face to extract facial appearance changes. But it is also clear that beside feature descriptor; choice of suitable learning method that integrates feature novelty is vital. The multiple kernels learning (MKL) framework reportedly shows promising performances on problems of this nature. However, most MKL studies in object recognition domain provide conflicting reports about recognition performances of MKL. We resolve such conflicts by motivating a comparative analysis of MKL using appearance descriptors for facial emotion recognition-in challenging learning setting. Moreover, we introduce a simulated learning emotion (SLE) dataset for the first time in model performance evaluation. We conclude that given sufficient training elements (examples) with efficient feature descriptor, the rapper methods of Semi-infinite programming MKL (SIP-MKL) and SimpleMKL frameworks are relatively efficient on facial emotion recognition task, compare to other kernel combination schemes. Nevertheless we opine that average MKL performance accuracy, especially on learning facial emotion dataset, remains unsatisfactory (around 56%).

Steganography is a technique that is used to secret information in a cover media that ensure the secrete of messages and their existence, not notice from others. A blind steganography means that secret information can be extracted without need the original cover image. Different types of media are used as a cover in stenography techniques, such as text, image, audio or video. One of these techniques was the image that created by using algebraic Fractals, Julia set is a type of algebraic fractal, which it can be used as a cover to embedded text or images in blind steganography technique. This method used in many thesis and papers. The aim of this paper focuses on the weak points and limitations of using fractal images, especially Julia sets images, as a cover in steganography system that may contribute in detect the hidden information within these images. The importance of this paper, it gives a hint to steganography system designer to avoid these weak points which threat the security of their systems.

Terrorist attacks are the most significant challenging for the humankind across the world, which need the whole attention. To predict the terrorist group which is accountable for results and activities utilizing historical info is a difficult task because of the lake of detailed terrorist data. Therefore, this paper based on predicting terrorist groups responsible of attacks in TURKEY terrorist acts that occurred in 2016 by using data mining techniques is analyzing the most useful and accessible algorithms used by the machine learning systems. The typical analysis of these datasets including algorithms is implemented on the Weka tool depends upon real info represented through Global Terrorism Database (GTD) from the national consortium for the study of terrorism and responses of terrorism (START). The results of the paper show which algorithm is more convenient for a particular dataset. Tests are performed on real-life data by using Weka and also the final analysis and conclusion based on five performance steps which revealed that J48, is more accurate than Bayes Net, SVM and NB but KNN has the lowest classification accuracy although it performs well in other measures.

The steady success of the Internet has led to an enormous rise in the volume of electronic text records. Sensitive tasks are increasingly being used to organize these materials in meaningful bundles. The standard clustering approach of documents was focused on statistical characteristics and clustering using the syntactic rather than semantic notion. This paper provides a new way to group documents based on textual similarities. Text synopses are found, identified, and stopped using the NLTK dictionary from Wikipedia and IMDB datasets. The next step is to build a vector space with TFIDF and cluster it using an algorithm K-mean. The results were obtained based on three proposed scenarios: 1) no treatment. 2) preprocessing without derivation, and 3) Derivative processing. For intraoperative medical imaging, the development of small field of view (SFOV) hybrid gamma cameras is an expanding area of research. The performance characteristics of a new innovation combining both gamma and optical imaging in a co-aligned configuration, the Hybrid Gamma Camera (HGC) have been evaluated and compared. In this study the HGC was fitted with either 1500 μm thick columnar CsI:TI or 1500 μm thick pixelated GOS scintillators. The columnar CsI:TI scintillator has an intrinsic spatial resolution of 230 μm compared to 1090 μm for the pixelated GOS scintillator. The sensitivity at 140.5 keV of the CsI:TI was 40 %, however, for the GOS it was 54 %. The intrinsic spatial uniformity was comparable for both CsI:TI and GOS scintillators. There was a significant difference between the CsI:TI and GOS scintillators for count rate capability which was lower when using a GOS scintillator.
