Easy Home or Home automation plays a very important role in modern era because of its flexibility in using it at different places with high precision which will save money and time by decreasing human hard work. Prime focus of this technology is to control the household equipment's like light, fan, door, AC etc. automatically. This research paper has detailed information on Home Automation and Security System using Arduino, GSM and how we can control home appliances using Android application. Whenever a person will enter into the house then the count of the number of persons entering in the house will be incremented, in Home Automation mode applicances will be turned on whereas in security light will be turned on along with the alarm. The count of the number of persons entering the house is also displayed on the LCD screen. In Home Automation mode when the room will become empty i.e. the count of persons reduces to zero then the applicances will be turned off making the system power efficient. Moreover a person can control his home appliances by using an android application present in his mobile phone which will reduce the human hard work. At the same time if anyone enters while security mode is on a SMS will be sent to house owner's mobile phone which will indicate the presence of a person inside the house.The alarm can be turned of using SMS or Android application.

Home automation is grounded on multimodal operation which can be operated using the stoner's voice recognition commands using Google Assistant or through web grounded operation and It's using MQTT is presented for transferring entering data from detectors. Wireless networks enable multiple electronics widgets to use the same network connection without physical contact. It enables mobile widgets similar as smart phones, laptops, iPods and tablets to mobile freely within the content space and still maintain connectivity to the network.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the most recent technology platform. We may regulate our daily routine work, such as home applications, control, and simple communication systems, using IOT, and improve our digital services. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system that intelligently adds everyday content information to the internet in order to facilitate communication between objects and humans, as well as among themselves. In this study, we demonstrate how IoT can improve home automation. The relay, Node MCU, which is a network access component, is used in our suggested system. We can control that equipment using an IoT-based system technique. Mobile phones, computers, and tablets are used as user interfaces in home automation systems. They can connect to the home automation network through a wireless internet connection. The user will interact with the system directly via the control interface, while home appliances will be controlled remotely via a mobile app. An additional aspect of the home automation system is that it may be protected remotely. This redesigned design concept provided a home automation system that could be controlled efficiently.

This paper presents a flexible standalone, low cost smart home system, which is based on the Android app communicating with the micro-web server providing more than the switching functionalities. The Arduino Ethernet is used to eliminate the use of a personal computer (PC) keeping the cost of the overall system to a minimum while voice activation is incorporated for switching functionalities. Devices such as light switches, power plugs, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, current sensors, intrusion detection sensors, smoke/gas sensors and sirens have been integrated in the system to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed smart home system. The smart home app is tested and it is able successfully perform the smart home operations such as switching functionalities, automatic environmental control and intrusion detection, in the later case where an email is generated and the siren goes on.

In this chapter, we explore the hypothesis that emerging technology, in the form of the digital home, could provide a new way of exploring the implications of a digital lifestyle for consumption, policy, and social research purposes. We will illustrate how these methods are implemented by describing a working prototype of future digital homes called the iSpace and a methodology that empowers laypeople to customize the functionality of their digital homes called PiP. The ability of lay-users to customize products provides a powerful tool for market and social researchers to gain an insight to the needs and behavior of ordinary people. Moreover, a central innovation made possible by the technologies in digital homes is the opportunity for researching how the disaggregation of control over resources and institutional decision making evident in other parts of the information economy and networked world work in a model that is scalable from household to neighborhood, state, and beyond. We also discuss how and when the data from a digital home might add value to existing social survey and marketing approaches.
