Discriminazione

The present Master’s dissertation offers a bibliographic review of two of the most relevant contemporary theoretical positions on anthropocentrism and animal studies. It lays out an analysis of the criticism of anthropocentrism by two representative philosophers of the field: Óscar Horta, who approaches the subject from the perspective of analytic philosophy, and Leonardo Caffo, who studies it from the point of view of continental philosophy. The comparative study of their theories is followed by the proposal for a combined analytic-continental strategy intended to enable a new way of thinking the rejection of anthropocentrism and the criticism of theories that justify and perpetuate the discrimination and exploitation of non-human animals.

The road of broken dreams. The ethnic discriminations along the Domiziana road

This paper examined multi-layered dynamics of discrimination between African immigrants and Italian residents in the Domiziana road, near the Italian ltown of Castel Volturno. Starting from a promised paradise in the name of the myth of tourism development, a forty years huge illegal housing process has degraded the territory that it had sought to enrich. This degenerative process of the place in an "urbanistical dump" has transformed the Domiziana road in a "social dump". So now in this region a slum for Italian marginals intersects a banlieue of illegal immigrants. Here, in a widespread exploitation context of illegal employment, this groups are competing for 3D jobs (dirty, dangerous and demeaning). This while the local economical-political actors fight in the name of multiculturalist migrant's hospitality policy or for the defense of traditional identity. So, the general purpose of this ethnographic fieldwork is to highlight the intersectionality factors between ethno-cultural diversity and socioeconomic inequality in the anthropology of dwelling in Castel Volturno.



Questo articolo descrive la multi-direzionalità delle diinamiche discriminatorie tra immigrati africani e residenti italiani lungo la via Domiziana, nei pressi di Castel Volturno (CE). Partendo da un paradiso promesso in nome del mito dello sviluppo turistico, la speculazione edilizia in quarant'anni ha degradato il territorio che prometteva di arricchire. Questo processo degenerativo del luogo in una "discarica urbanistica" ha trasformato la via Domiziana in una "discarica sociale". Così ora in questa regione uno slum per marginali italiani s'interseca con una banlieue di migranti irregolari. Qui, in un contesto diffuso sfruttamento del lavoro illegale, questi gruppi sono in competizione per posti di lavoro "5P" (precari, pesanti, poco pagati, pericolosi, penalizzanti socialmente). Ciò mentre gli attori politico-economici locali confliggono in nome della politica multiculturalista di accoglienza del migrante contro quella per la difesa della propria identità tradizionale. Lo scopo generale di questa ricerca etnografica è quello di evidenziare i fattori intersezionalità tra diversità etnico-culturale e disuguaglianze socio-economiche nell'antropologia dell'abitare a Castel Volturno.

The paper provides reasoned analysis and criticism of both the Achibita and Bougnaoui judgments decided by the European Court of Justice. The author argues against the position of the Court related to the "legitimate aim".
The analysis carried out aims to emphasize that the central point of the Court's reasoning does not comply with the very rationale of the provisions under scrutiny since, in the second judgment, it is claimed that the purpose of meeting the prejudices of the surrounding environment for economic reasons is legitimate under the art. 2, par. 2, lett. b, i
