These three are the basic rights of every citizen. The discrimination and exclusions in satisfying these basic necessities of life results in poverty. Design of interventions is complex due to the deep-rooted social structures, legal frameworks and national policies which have to be addressed if they are identified as constraints for poor people's livelihood.
In the past few decades, the concern for street vendors gained a lot of light. The conflict between them and the city official is never ending and needs to be resolved. This dissertation attempts to highlight the need for an inclusive infrastructure to safeguard the livelihood options of the urban poor and use design as a catalyst to help conceive new solutions that are mutually benefiting to all the stakeholders concerned.

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify status of women in Bedele
town administration, as well point out factors hindering
women from the participating in public and forward
some possible recommendations for solving the problems
identified through study. Primarily, the study is of
descriptive in nature and survey method was used in
data gathering. Data used in this paper is mainly primary
but to some extent secondary data as well, quantitative
and qualitative types was incorporated. In doing this
research paper, of total employees existing in Bedele
Town administration, 108 (30% of total population)
sample respondents were selected using systematic
random sampling method, and were placed
questionnaires containing open ended and closed ended
nature questions personally, 103 (95.37%) of them had
filled and returned the questionnaire. In addition, a mayor of the town and Women Affair
office head were addressed through interview using interview guide. In way of analyzing
data, techniques such as tabulation, percentages, chart and the like has been employed.
Study revealed that, in public institutions existed in Bedele Town, the majority of women
were having an educational status of diploma and lower, holding lower non decision
making and leadership positions, and observed major barriers hindering women from
public leadership and decision-making positions include: Socio-cultural attitudes and lack
of acquisition of the necessary experience for taking part in public decision-making, Over
burden of domestic responsibilities continuation of the negative attitudes regarding
women‟s ability to lead and govern, Lack of role models of women leaders for young
women and girls, and the like can be stated. Finally, the researcher has forwarded some
possible ways in which women could appear in public decision making and leadership.

The goal of Ergonomics is to provide maximum productivity with minimal cost. There may be jobs that will include a specific task that requires extended reaches or overhead work that cannot be sustained for long periods. In order to have the optimum value or high productivity of employees every organization should consider the work environment. The work environment involves the physical geographical location as well as the immediate surroundings of the workplace, such as a construction site or office building.
Never less the typical Ethiopian workers often find themselves in a workplace environment that’s to a large extent lacks the congenial atmosphere that safeguards the safety and overall interests. This paper introduces how employees interact with the office environment they are in and the effect or impact of their performance level. A well designed and furnished office signals the values and objectives of the company and communicates the company’s strategic and overall corporate goals to both employees and clients. Descriptive analysis was employed in order to analyze the data gathered through primary and secondary method of data collection. Food is an important aspect to sustain life and it has always been amalgamated importantly into every community practice. With an increase in the gastronomic interest in the tourists these days, there is a great emphasis on the development of local food systems and lecturing food insecurities in communities. Projects majorly focusing on local food practices addressed by the communities can be used to carry forward the involvement of local communities in the tourism process. It becomes a distinguishing aspect for communities to get involved in the tourism process directly to empower themselves out of poverty and supremacy. With an aim to address the potential contributions to the subject, the group of editors have invited contributions and edited them in two volumes. The current book volume comprises of chapters, research papers, case studies, lost recipes, and information on traditional methods and tools used by the local communities and villages in cooking and related aspects in India. The book can be referred by hospitality and tourism students, research scholars in the field of Social sciences, tourism and hospitality academicians and everyone interested to explore tourism based on food and the subjects related to the empowerment of the local communities.

ABSTRACT The study set out to obtain information on the nature and level of participation of community members in the implementation of Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS). A case study research design was adopted. A sample of 125 respondents was selected using the purposive sampling method for the key informants such as the traditional leadership, officials deployed by the government to the programme, fieldworkers and CSO. A convenience sampling method was also used for focus groups and to select participants from the community. An interview schedule which had both structured and unstructured questions, was used to gather the required data. For data analysis, the thematic analysis method was used.   
It was discovered that there are various methods used to engage the community in the programme, namely: mass community meetings, door-to-door visits, household visits and participation of the community as walk-ins. The most commonly used method to engage community members was found to be the door-to-door visits where the CCGs were actively involved. The respondents participated only in the identification of issues affecting them and not in identifying possible solutions to the problems. The decisions were seemingly taken by external members, something which has negative implications on community development of projects.
The participation of community members in the form of ‘walk-ins’ raised concern, as this is taken as a sign of lack of commitment, which could result in people not viewing the programme as a learning process which could lead to growth and change. The method cannot be considered as a reliable or effective way of ensuring adequate participation in any service delivery or community development programme. It basically suggests low levels of participation and that the actual implementation does not encourage the development of what is referred to as the ‘we feeling’ or ownership of the programme in participation circles. 
It is also concluded that gender-specific capacitation and empowerment programmes have to be instituted, because the programme predominantly comprises women. The group that was found to be actively involved is usually characterised by inadequate access to assets and productive resources, and a lack of knowledge or skills. Among the officials in the WR, limited knowledge on roles and responsibilities was noted in certain wards, and this has implications for service delivery and may be some how responsible for the lack of participation in WR activities.

In  today’s  world,  women  entrepreneurs  are playing  a  very  vital  role  and  they  have  become  an important  part  of  the  global  business  environment  and it’s  really  important  for  the  sustained  economic development  and  social  progress.    In  the  Philippines, though women are playing a key role in  society,  still their entrepreneurial  ability  has  not  been  properly  tapped  due to the lower status of women in society. The main purpose of  this  paper  was  to  find  out  the  entrepreneurial  skills  of women  in  a  rural  area.  The  researchers  used  the descriptive  cross-sectional  design  of  research,  with  the closed-ended  survey-questionnaire  in  a  Likert  scale  type. A total of  150  women was targeted as respondents of this study.  Other  relevant  information  was  gathered  through an intensive  library  and  online  researches.  The  adequate related  literature  and  studies  gave  the  researchers  the proper direction on how the investigation was  done.  Most of  the  women  were  aged  26  -  30,  married,  with  at  least two  children,  and  a  baccalaureate  degree  holders.  They managed  their  own  businesses  and  earning  a  monthly income  of  Php  10,001  to  Php  20,000.  The  women entrepreneurs  were  good  in  marketing  (selling),  record keeping,  business  management,  critical  thinking, planning  and  research,  decision-making,  organization, and  oral  communication  skills.  However,  they  needed training in written communication and managerial skills. The local  government  unit  must  encourage  more  women to  join  seminars and  training  to improve their skills  in the identified  areas,  and  community  must  promote  and institutionalize  the  women's  business  activities  to promote their  enterprises.

Despite empowerment playing a crucial role in sustainable tourism development, there have yet to be scales developed to measure whether residents perceive themselves as being psychologically, socially, or politically empowered from tourism. To address this gap, the Resident Empowerment through Tourism Scale (RETS) was developed following Churchill's (1979) criteria for scale development. The RETS was purified through a pilot and pretest study before being tested in a three county region of western Virginia, USA. The data were initially analyzed using multiple exploratory factor analyses before being validated through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Results of the CFA demonstrated that the RETS displayed construct validity with standardized factor loadings ranging from 0.65 to 0.92 for the three subscales and construct reliability scores ranging from 0.85 to 0.92. The RETS is presented as a scale ready for use to measure the extent to which residents perceive themselves as being empowered or disempowered by tourism.

This article traces the role of pastoral workers/community organizers in the Basic Ecclesial Communities of the Diocese of Boac. It argues that the community organizing component, mostly handled by women lay pastoral workers, has become indispensable to BEC building. It acknowledges the role of women pastoral workers in community building inasmuch as community building has brought about shifts in the role of women in society.

This Dissertation investigates the opinions of members within the Women’s Institute in regards to the politics of the organisation and also a collection of data and observations from a fieldwork exercise.
Contrary to member and representatives opinions that the Women’s Institute is not a political organization.  This dissertation explains how politics is a very important part of the Women’s Institute, that identity and belonging is a key presence and it can be proved to be a political organisation and always has been. 
Using personal interaction, fieldwork and a questionnaire, data found, proved to be far more interesting and intriguing than expected and questionnaire opinions given contrary to actual activities within the last one hundred years. 
The Women’s Institute celebrates its one-hundredth centenary in the year two thousand and fifteen.

It also targets effective structural changes upon widows’ traditional personalities through widowhood advocacy group activities and networks to ensure accountability measures on perpetrators

Access to financial services is an essential component for improving women economic empowerment, reducing gender disparities and alleviating poverty. The objective of this study is to examine women social, political, and economic empowerment as a result of an on-going Union Council-based poverty reduction programme; implemented in 8 districts of Sindh province with main provision of zero-interest based loan facility available for women.

The study reveals that while having provision of interest free financing available at grass-root level, a social mobilisation approach that encourages women to become part of community level organisations i.e. from neighbourhood to union council level, helped women to assert their basic living rights. Families and communities allowed women to organise and participate jointly in the financial system; which encourage women to help and manage financial and other economic risks, to support their families by starting or expanding micro business enterprises, and to involve in community decision making.

I am all of these things and more.  By the recent attacks by the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, I am beginning to think I am the problem.  I seem to stand for everything the Vatican and USCCB seek to silence.  Is it because of my organizational ties with the U. S. Vowed Religious and Girl Scouts, or my writings as a Feminist and Theologian?  Maybe the answer is simply – because I am a woman.

According to the criticisms launched by the USCCB and the Vatican, I seem to be part of the problem rather than the solution.  Why is this so?  It was not until I started my journey in ministry that my idealistic “Catholic” bubble popped – not so much by me, but by those in ministry and leadership, by those that did not like laity to pose questions and think critically about their faith beliefs, and by  those that do not like people who do not fit within the preconceived mold of what a “good Catholic” should be.  This ideological construct is difficult enough when you are part of a Church community, but when you begin to embrace leadership as a woman, question teachings, exercise your canonical rights, your peers and even people you thought were your friends, no longer talk or associate with you. The betrayal is vicious and runs deep – it is behavior not becoming of a minister or one who professes the Catholic faith.

Time.  We mark years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. We mark seasons.  We mark life events.  We live our lives in time: both circular and linear.  Time began before we did and time will continue after we cannot experience it any further.  Some say we repeat time with rebirth.  Others suggest that we only have one lifetime of which we should make the most.  Still others suggest there is existence outside of time with concepts like infinity and eternal life.

On February 7, 2012, a panel discussion focused on the past, present, and future of feminist theologies took place at Claremont Graduate University to celebrate the release of TheOxford Handbook on Feminist Theology.  The panel was organized by John Erickson, moderated by Grace Kao, and featured Karen Torjesen, Rosemary Radford Ruether, Gina Messina-Dysert, Zayne Kassam, and Sheila Briggs as presenters.  What resulted was a terrific discussion about women, religion, and feminist theologies.  Many were in attendance and participated in the panel; for those who were unable to attend, here is a video of the presentations from that evening.  We look forward to you sharing your thoughts and comments about the past, present, and future of feminist theologies.
