Objectives: Purpose of study was to highlight certain aspects of hospital waste management status in health facilities providing health care in an urban area. This study is focused on awareness of health facilities about Central Pollution Control Board rules, hospital waste management training status, maintenance of records and accident reporting system and proper disposal of hospital waste. The importance of this study is to create the necessary awareness to the Government, Charitable, and Private Hospitals/Clinics/Diagnostic centers staff of Jaipur, regarding the health risk of hospital waste.  Methods: All the health facilities registered with Chief medical officer of urban Jaipur are included in the study. Results: It was observed that of the 19  health care facilities under study, only 52.63% health care facilities were registered with State Pollution Board for biomedical waste management. It was observed that only 68.42% study units were aware of existence of Central Pollution Control Board Rules on Biomedical Waste Management. Only 36.84% of the health care facilities had trained staff; 47.36% of all health care facilities were maintaining records; none of the facilities had any type of accident reporting system. Hospital waste segregation and utilization of offsite treatment facilities is happening in only two-third of health facilities (among qualified practitioners), which is grossly inadequate. Conclusion: Hospital waste management issues remain a challenge yet to be addressed as the present study reveals gross inadequacies in most of the health facilities of the study area.

Philippine regional oral literature scholarship is currently navigating against the current from the periphery to the center. While a number of works had been anthologized and had undergone scrutiny, apparently not much exploration has been given to the factor of geography, which has allowed the transport of multiculturalism and multilingualism as it is in Romblon. The main research question is a descriptive-analytic documentation of the tradition: the questions reflect on the textual-historical analysis of the significance of karagatan; the textual and extra-textual analysis of the people's collective consciousness; and the overall contribution of the study to the present anthology of the Philippine National Literature. The history, geography, context of narration and culture were likewise recorded and the translation was done during fieldwork with the aid of the natives. The original vernacular text along with the transcribed and translated field texts were subjected to textual, extra-textual, historical, cultural, and geographical analyses with the researcher interpreting data from the informants' perspectives. Interestingly, the fieldwork, translation, and literary analysis revealed several fascinating aspects of the regions' consciousness. The maritime characteristics of Romblon archipelago served not as a barrier but a link between the islands thereby connecting the people as one region, as one community. Though the people sang their songs in three different languages-Onhan, Asi, and Romblomanon-they talked of the same sea, laughed at the same jokes, shared the same values, and in general, exhibited diverse but amalgamated attitudes and ideals.

The enactment of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act prompted higher education institutions including state universities and colleges (SUCs) to incorporate ecological waste management in the school system. Thus, this paper aimed to assess the extent of implementation of solid waste management practices in select SUCs in CALABARZON in terms of waste reuse, waste reduction, waste collection, waste recycling, waste treatment, and final waste disposal. Respondents of the study included university administrators, faculty members, non-teaching staff, students and concessionaries for a total of 341. A survey questionnaire was used to gather data (SLSU). Result revealed that solid waste management practices are implemented to a great extent. Among the practices, waste collection got the highest composite mean particularly on the promotion of 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) in the collection of waste. On the other hand, waste recycling and waste treatment obtained the lowest composite mean. In terms of waste recycling, establishing partnership with local or private business for recyclable recovery program was to moderate extent. Waste treatment particularly neutralization of acid bases was also of moderate extent. The study recommended strengthening of public-private partnership (PPP) on the recycling and treatment of wastes.

A Study on use of information resources and services
of City Central Library and its branch libraries, Mysore ,
Karnataka State, India shows that majority of users were men
between the age group of 16 – 25 years and they included
unemployed graduates and students who visit the library daily.
Most of the users are also member of the library. They got
acquainted with the libraries through their friends and through
mobile library services. They opine that the location of library
and working hours are convenient to them. They visit the library
for educational purpose. Most of the users spend 2 hours per day
in the library. Short stories, adventure story books, biographies,
sports literature and general books were the most frequently read
information sources of interest to the users. Concludes that since
majority of the users are students and unemployed youth, public
libraries need to enrich their information resource collection,
provide access to Internet and offer community-based services,
including literary programs. Public libraries need to take
proactive approach in motivating users to use these resources and
services to enhance their competence level.

3'-C-Methyladenosine (3'-Me-Ado) is a mechanism-based ribonucleotide reductase inhibitor endowed with antitumor activity against both human leukemia and carcinoma cell lines. In this paper, we report the synthesis and antitumor evaluation of a series of purine and pyrimidine 3'-C-methylribonucleoside analogs of 3'-Me-Ado. A stereoselective synthesis of the arabino analog of 3'-Me-Ado is also described. Among the tested compounds, only 3'-C-methyluridine showed moderate antitumor activity against human myelogenous leukemia K562 cell line.

Ce mémoire d'étude consiste en une étude des mécanismes de «contextualisation » par le décor d'une collection archéologique au XIXe siècle en Prusse, en prenant l'exemple du département égyptien du Neues Museum de Berlin. En considérant les enjeux scientifiques, politiques et muséographiques au regard de la discipline naissante qu'est l'égyptologie, cette étude aborde également l'histoire des goûts, les transferts de savoirs, la portée didactique et immersive du décor, ainsi que le caractère transnational de l’oeuvre qu'est le département égyptien.

E cosa accade dopo la distruzione della metropoli punica? L’analisi delle tendenze storiografiche, delle fonti classiche e dei dati archeologici e lo studio della localizzazione e della cronologia dei santuari tofet, dei loro repertori ceramici, lapidei ed epigrafici porterà a riconoscere un’identità fenicia in quello che chiameremo “Circolo del tofet” (VIII - metà VI sec. a.C.) ed una dipendenza dalle scelte politico-religiose della città punica nel “Circolo di Cartagine” (metà VI sec. a.C. - 146 a.C.). La ricerca e lo studio dei tofet neopunici (II sec. a.C. - II sec. d.C.), localizzabili nella regione magrebina dopo la fine dell’imperialismo cartaginese, suggerisce, infine, che questa nuova categoria santuariale nasca e si diffonda in più siti proprio in virtù della loro acquisita indipendenza socio-politica e religiosa conseguente alla distruzione di Cartagine la quale aveva fino ad allora osteggiato la diffusione di santuari tofet nel proprio entroterra africano.

The origin of the Tophet sanctuary has to be found in the Cypro-Phoenician Motherland or in Carthage? What is Carthage’s role in the Tophet development and spreading? And what happens when the Punic city comes to its end and afterwards? The analysis of the historiographic tendency, either through the classical sources or the archaeological finds, and the study of the localization and the chronology of the Tophet sanctuaries, and their pottery and epigraphic repertoires will lead us to acknowledge a Phoenician identity in the so called “Tophet Circle” (8th - middle of 6th cent. BC) and a reliance on Carthaginian political and religious choices in the “Carthaginian Circle” (middle of 6th cent. BC - 146 BC). Moreover, research and study of Neopunic Tophet (2nd century BC – 2nd cent. AD) in the Maghrebian area right after the end of Carthage’s hegemony suggest that this new sanctuary category arose in several different sites because of their brand new political and religious independency, after-acquired the destruction of Carthage, the city which had hampered the Tophet diffusion in its own African hinterland.
