Circuit

Cet article a pour objet l’évaluation par les pairs en musique contemporaine, notamment au sein de deux institutions : le ministère de la Culture (France) et New Music usa (États-Unis). Nous nous arrêtons longuement sur une figure d’évaluateur que nous appelons « l’intermédiaire » (d’après le travail du sociologue Ronald S. Burt), typifiée par ses liens avec plusieurs réseaux de créateurs plutôt que par son ancrage dans un seul réseau cohésif. Cela nous mène à discuter de l’art sonore, un genre qui demande aux créateurs de nourrir des liens avec des réseaux divers, et du succès institutionnel étonnant des compositrices dans ce domaine. S’ensuit une comparaison des différents systèmes de vote utilisés par les deux institutions étudiées, avec une conclusion sur le travail de gatekeeping en musique contemporaine et sur les façons dont ce travail peut influer sur le travail créateur des compositeurs.

In this paper, the implementation of the discrete sine transform (DST) and its inverse (IDST) are developed. General length structure of the DST and IDST, which can be implemented by using the recursive structures, has been proposed. One approach to understanding behavior is to define the cellular components of neuronal circuits that control behavior. In the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, neuronal circuits have been delineated based on patterns of synaptic connectivity derived from ultrastructural analysis. Individual cellular components of these anatomically defined circuits have previously been characterized on the sensory and motor neuron levels. In contrast, interneuron function has only been addressed to a limited extent. We describe here several classes of interneurons (AIY, AIZ, and RIB) that modulate locomotory behavior in C. elegans. Using mutant analysis as well as microsurgical mapping techniques, we found that the AIY neuron class serves to tonically modulate reversal frequency of animals in various sensory environments via the repression of the activity of a bistable switch composed of defined command interneurons. Furthermore, we show that the presentation of defined sensory modalities induces specific alterations in reversal behavior and that the AIY interneuron class mediates this alteration in locomotory behavior. We also found that the AIZ and RIB interneuron classes process odorsensory information in parallel to the AIY interneuron class. AIY, AIZ, and RIB are the first interneurons directly implicated in chemosensory signaling. Orthotopic liver transplantations (OLT) have been associated with significant blood loss and hemodilution, necessitating significant homologous blood component replacement. Increasing administration of homologous blood products has been found to be inversely related to patient and graft survival. Various methods to reduce the amount of blood products patients receive during OLT, such as antifibrinolytic therapy, thromboelastography-guided transfusion, phlebotomy, reduced central venous pressures intraoperatively, and the use of the veno-venous bypass (VVB) circuit, have been explored.The asanguineous priming volume of the VVB circuit increases the likelihood of the patient receiving homologous blood products due to hemodilution. It was reasoned that autologous priming of the VVB circuit in OLT surgery was a plausible adjunctive blood conservation technique given its application to the extracorporeal circuit during cardiac surgery. Abstract. Let G = (X, Y) be a bipartite graph and define σ22(G) = min{d(x) + d(y) : xy /∈ E(G), x ∈ X, y ∈ Y}. Moon and Moser [5] showed that if G is a bipartite graph on 2n vertices such that σ22(G) ≥ n + 1 then G is hamiltonian, sharpening a classical result of Ore [6] for bipartite graphs. Here we prove that if G is a bipartite graph on 2n vertices such that σ22(G) ≥ n+ 2k − 1 then G contains k edge-disjoint hamiltonain cycles. This extends the result of Moon and Moser and a result of R. Faudree, et al. [3]

La compositrice québécoise Ana Sokolović est d’origine serbe et plusieurs de ses oeuvres font référence à son pays d’origine, que ce soit par l’utilisation de mélodies et de rythmes traditionnels ou par des références culturelles. Pour approfondir son héritage serbe, l’auteure s’est entretenue avec la compositrice en mars 2012. L’article relate les paysages de son enfance et de son adolescence, l’environnement musical, culturel et politique de ses années d’apprentissage. Le portrait de sa vie familiale et de son quotidien nous permet de saisir des éléments constituants de sa personnalité d’artiste en devenir. Sa décision de s’établir à Montréal est explorée et elle raconte comment elle a pris conscience de son héritage slave.

The efficiency of several variance reduction techniques (in particular, importance sampling, stratified sampling, and control variates) are studied with respect to their application in estimating circuit yields. This study suggests that one essentially has to have a good approximation of the region of acceptability in order to achieve significant variance reduction. Further, all the methods considered are based, either explicitly or implicity, on the use of a model. The control variate method appears to be more practical for implementation in a general purpose statistical circuit analysis program. Stratified sampling is the most simple to implement, but yields only very modest reductions in the variance of the yield estimator. Lastly, importance sampling is very useful when there are few parameters and the yield is very high or very low; however, a good practical technique for its implementation, in general, has not been found.

this demo shows exercises held at Jadavpur University using a combination of virtual labs (basically electronic circuit simulation) and pocket labs. The use of pocket labs in education enables students to follow their own time schedule and makes it possible to repeat exercises for a better understanding. Two exercises will be shown, both of them using National Instruments' myDAQ: Basic electronic circuit design compares the simulation result of Multiuse with a real circuit on a breadboard, and computer science and programming lectures will use a Jadavpur University-designed mini System. All exercises using pocket labs are designed to be done at home by students.

Abstract—Electronic nose systems comprise a more or less sophisticated hardware that is incorporated with sensors, electronics, pumps, and flow controller, where the software components ensure suitable technological hardware monitoring, data pre-processing, statistical analysis, and display of processed data. The current paper seeks to survey on interface design techniques for electronic nose sensors, with a specific focus on interface circuit design techniques for signal conditioning of electronic nose sensors. In addition, the paper classifies these circuits into two primary categories: integrated circuits and non-integrated circuits. Lastly, tables are provided to compare frequent methods used and specific application of the e-nose.
