This paper aims to illustrate the transformation of point of view in apocalyptic/dystopian genre films, abandoning the lamenting tone in favor of other species. It also intends to exhibit the aesthetic strategies conforming to the shifting tone of these genre films towards a post-human stance. It can be argued that the conjuncture which is shaped by several coinciding narratives of crisis from the Anthropocene to the more recent political crisis of rising Populism led Posthumanist discourse gain prevalence. The paper will try to link the shifting tone of genre films with the lineages of Posthumanist discourse and contemporary collective anxieties. This work aims to question the main contradictions of the migrant crisis by media coverage. The sheer amount of images and discourses produced to service the everyday political jargons is met by a Marxist critique of the political economy behind the mass displacement. Close attention is given to the economic and geopolitical conjunctures that preceded the events of 2015 and the earlier history of labor power allocation. This lays the groundwork for a more specific context, i.e. the role of the Balkans in this crisis and the ideology of its media. The problems dealt with are: the coining of the term “The Balkan Route”, the economic and political conjuncture that determines the contemporary Serbian media sphere and the several key representations of the migrant crisis, primarily in social and news media. Les bâtiments des centres d’archives, des bibliothèques et des musées fonctionnent comme des espaces de conservation et de présentation des collections. Offrant une diversité de formes architecturales et de modes de fonctionnement, réalisés à différentes périodes et susceptibles de transformations régulières, ils forment un corpus très hétérogène. Intersectional understandings of identities as traversed by diverse forms of oppression have brought to light also the ways commitments to contesting these forms of oppression might come into conflict. A salient form of conflicting intersectionality is the apparent conflict between feminist and anti-racist or anti-colonial commitments today. By offering a materialist rereading of Simone de Beauvoir’s understanding of oppression and emancipation against her postcolonial critics, I argue that instead of a particularistic one, a universalist and egalitarian account of conflicting intersectionality is required today – an account which is however fully aware of the historical nature of the universal itself. Such an account may allow us to keep condemning all forms of oppression, with Beauvoir’s words, as an “absolute evil”.
