To date, no empirical research has been conducted to assess American public knowledge of, and attitudes toward Ruism. This paper presents and discusses the results of an atheoretical, descriptive survey study which addresses this gap. An empirical baseline of public knowledge and perceptions of Ruism in the U.S. is therefore established to inform further research and to guide practical efforts of promoting Ruism among the general public and academia. The study concludes with a theoretical reflection upon the results and their potential application from the perspectives of Ruist philosophy and history.

The Place of Religion in the University and in American Public Life2008 •
The US today, in my view, most clearly manifests the spirit of Western civilization that has evolved over the past two centuries. My perspective on the “American idea” has been formed based on a lengthy study of the culture of the United States and my personal experience. The scientific novelty of the research consists of making the productive connections between the Enlightenment ideology, the crisis of religious consciousness, and the American national self-identity. The practical significance of the obtained results consists of valuable implications of those connections for the future evolution of religion in America and on the entire planet.

The American Revivalist Tradition Mark II2024 •
Since 1995 I had forewarned where the American Revivalist Tradition (ART) was taking the Christian institutions in Australia, from my doctorate awarded by The University of Queensland. I had, though, never really understood the spiral of history, and could not imagine how the impact of ART would contribute to our current Trumpian and Putinian state of affairs. At the time, the "American empire" was, again, on the ascent, and the "Russian Empire" had collapse. With the rise of the economically-driven American secular nationalism, came the reinvigorated Christian nationalism of the 1990s, as the Institutional Church is the handmaiden to the State. The new Evangelical outlook built on the nationalism of the 1950s in the paradigms of anti-communism and American Modernism (or "Americanism") to which Robert Wuthnow describes as "American Religion"; also Harold Bloom in "The American Religion: The Emergence of the Post-Christian Nation" (1992; second edition 2006). From the roots of American modernist nationalism, developed the 1960s of William F. Buckley's neo-conservativism, the 1970s Moral Majority, the 1980s New Christian Right, and, of late, the 1990s, with succession into the early 21st century, of the Evangelical Religious-Rightist Alliance.
This thesis examines the phenomenon called “New Religious Movements” in the United States in relation to various cultural and ideological trends in the course of what is known as the counterculture that reportedly took shape in the 1960s. This study addresses several spiritualities of the New Age and uncovers intricate relations between the cultural context and New Agers’ own spirituality. It draws specific attention to the social and historical context and thus demonstrates the existence of direct relations between ideological trends and the principles and belief systems of New Religious Movements. More specifically, the thesis focuses on individuals on the verge of social change and argues that the impact of New Religious Movements transcends the level of the individual to attain a more universal range of implication that fits into the post-modern condition.
