Harmonic currents in non-sinusoidal currents mix with power distribution system impedance, causing voltage distortion impacting both the system and connected loads. Increased use of power electronics and time-varying nonlinear loads in industry leads to severe power-line pollution, degrading power supply quality, efficiency, and causing overheating. As harmonic-generating loads rise, their impact becomes crucial for system changes. The paper outlines various harmonic detection techniques and discusses prevalent non-linear loads. The paper briefly presents mitigation techniques for addressing power quality issues.

Modernization, Urbanization and industrial development are impacting the atmosphere's balance by ... more Modernization, Urbanization and industrial development are impacting the atmosphere's balance by releasing detrimental hazardous substances into the atmosphere, resulting in toxicity of set of components such as water, air, and soil, that are necessary for species to survive. "The four major types of pollution caused by industries are air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, and noise pollution." These parameters need to be brought under control to avoid its negative impact on the environment. In the past decade, IOT technology has evolved to a great extent. It bridges the gap between the surroundings and the user. This paper emphasizes on "Real-time Industrial Air, Water and Noise Pollution Data Monitoring System using IOT". The major purpose of this paper is to create an effective and reliable system for monitoring the parameters that pollute the environment. This system will acquire data from various sensors and keep a track of real time data. It will also inform the industrial pollution regulatory board if any of the parameters causing pollution rise above the industry standards. The sensors used in this project include pH sensor, MQ6, MQ9, temperature sensor, humidity sensor, noise sensor. The proposed system keeps a real-time record of pollutants released with precision along with date, time. It also sends an alert SMS and E-mail. This is performed using sim800L GPRS modem.

Not all shopping systems are convenient and user-friendly. The objective of this application to provide a solution to the challenges of conventional shopping methodologies and provide more expedient and comprehensible shopping experience to the purchaser. The product is to being scanned by the purchaser using (Near Field Communication) NFC supported smartphone. In the shopping malls and marts, cluster of analogous products will have a single (Near Field Communication) NFC tag which encompasses all product related information. The Information encompassed may include pictures of products, a brief narrative of the product, estimated cost of the product, etc. NFC (Near Field Communication) supported smartphone is to be used to touch or wave upon that product, so that the product gets added to basket and provisions are given to purchaser to add/ remove the product. Featured offered by the application includes user identification, latest product notification, alternate product recommendations, and upcoming as well as ongoing deals. At administrator side (merchant end), purchaser can pay for products either by cash, card, or E-wallet.
