Albaicín, una mirada interior es un viaje a los recuerdos de una historia marcada por la circunstancia de ser el lugar donde todavía se perciben las características de la última capital de la España musulmana. La dinastía nazarí contribuyó a conformar la ciudad de Granada con una belleza fuera de lo común. Más de cinco siglos después, nos han llegado dos claros ejemplos de ello: La Alhambra y un barrio llamado el Albaicín. Este amplio conjunto urbano esconde en su laberíntico trazado un pasado y un presente donde se fusionan algunas de las esencias del hombre: su necesidad de crear atmósferas que le hagan sentirse integrado con sus creencias y su capacidad para convivir con sus semejantes. Las miradas de este viaje interior se centran en las placetas y los estrechos callejones de diseño irregular, en las diversas arquitecturas religiosas y civiles, así como en las antiguas viviendas de los moriscos, que han soportado milagrosamente el paso del tiempo. También se observa la vida de las gentes que habitan este barrio y que, a pesar del transcurso de los siglos, sigue manteniendo su peculiaridad, una idiosincrasia poco común y un atractivo mágico para sus visitantes, que perciben tanto sus sorprendentes perspectivas como la especial historia del sitio. The Albaicín, an intimate view is a journey through time following the history of a place where traces of the last Muslim capital in Spain can still be seen. The Nasrid dynasty contributed greatly to the building of the city of Granada, giving it a beauty which is out of the ordinary. Five centuries later, we still have two clear examples: The Alhambra and a district known as the Albaicín. This extensive urban complex conceals within its labyrinth-like layout a past and a present where some of the essences of man are blended together. There is a combination of the desire to create spheres that allow him to feel integrated in his beliefs and his ability to live together with his fellow men. In this intimate itinerary all eyes are on the little squares and narrow alleys with their irregular design, in the variety of religious and civil architecture, as well as on the old Moorish dwellings that have miraculously endured the passing of time. We are also attracted by the life of the inhabitants of this district, which in spite of the course of time, still maintains its peculiar characteristics, an infrequent idiosyncrasy and one that has a magic appeal for the visitors who are able to appreciate both its surprising views and the special history of the district.
