2017, 2017 3DTV Conference: The True Vision - Capture, Transmission and Display of 3D Video (3DTV-CON)
We introduce SpaceWalk, an experimental approach to allow a person to move around a small room while wearing a Head Mounted Display. The goal is to get immersed users in everyday settings out of their seats and naturally experiencing movement within the simulation. SpaceWalk integrates a wireless solution around commodity equipment and requires no calibration by the user. This allows a low encumbrance full-body immersion in virtual reality while walking around living-room sized real-world spaces. The platform combines a commodity Head Mounted Display (Oculus Rift), with a depth-based camera (Kinect2) capturing movement of body and limbs within the space. A tablet computer, carried in a backpack, runs commodity VR software (Unity) with our own extensions that integrate the components. A brief survey of the literature demonstrates a gap in that other systems do neither allow a person’s body to be routinely tracked without calibration, or movement around the space without the encumbrance of wires. The proposed full body immersive virtual reality platform opens the door to Virtual Reality in small environments, such as people’s homes, that is compelling, easy to setup and use. After half a century, VR is coming of age, yet routine and unencumbered movement still needs to be achieved. This paper offers a method for doing so. Its contribution is to make Virtual Reality accessible to a wider group of users who do not have access to a professional virtual reality facility. In doing so it may help to unlock new paradigms for work, learning and entertainment.

Abstract In this paper, we propose a sensor-based interaction for ubiquitous virtual reality (U-VR) systems that users are able to interact implicitly or explicitly with through a sensor. Due to the advances in sensor technology, we can utilize sensory data as a means of user interactions. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, we extend the Composar augmented reality (AR) authoring tool to add support for sensor-based interaction.

Virtual reality (VR) systems have the potential for alleviating the existing constraints on various natural and social resources. Currently, real-time applications of VR systems are hampered by the tediousness of creating virtual environments. Furthermore, todayâ??s VR systems only stimulate the human senses of vision, hearing and â?? to some extent touch â?? which prevents the system users to feel fully immersed in the virtual environment. By integrating real physical devices with virtual environments, the user interactions with such systems can be improved and advanced technologies such as the MS Kinect system could be used to augment the environments themselves. While existing development platforms for VR systems are expensive, game engines provide a more efficient method for integrating VR with physical devices. Để dạy ngữ pháp có hiệu quả, giáo viên cần linh động chọn lọc phương pháp và kĩ thuật dạy sao cho đạt mục đích yêu cầu của bài học. Trong bài báo này tác giả đã đưa ra thực trạng của vấn đề và một số kỹ thuật dạy học phần Language Focus trong sách tiếng Anh lớp 9 một cách hiệu quả. Ngoài ra, giáo viên cũng phải giải thích cho học sinh hiểu tầm quan trọng của việc học ngữ pháp. Từ đó các em có thể sử dụng ngôn ngữ một cách có ý nghĩa và diễn đạt được đúng điều mà mình muốn giao tiếp.
