To experience it, we define two major enabling technologies: 1 Context-of-Interest CoI based Trans-Space registration and selective augmentation and 2 augmented object interaction for realistic collaboration. Through these technologies, a user wearing augmented reality AR glasses can naturally experience remote collaboration with spatial co-presence while moving in space. We implemented a prototype of the Trans-Space for a preliminary test experiencing spatial co-presence in an indoor environment. With an assumption that a common physical CoI is in each space, a distant mirror space can be conveniently linked with real user's mirror space and they are merged together as a Trans-Space. Through the proposed convergence system, a human's co-presence experience can be enlarged by selectively context sharing and effectively spatial interaction between remote mirror spaces. We expect this is applicable to AR-based time/space transcended smart applications, such as the next generation of experimental education, training, medical surgery, and entertainment.

Unlike conventional interface such as keyboard or joystick, the proposed system provides more natural and comfortable interface by exploiting rnuitimodal interfaces such as 3D vision and speech recognition. In addition, the proposed 3D vision-based interface allows relatively free-movement in 3D space, ...

We propose a software architecture to support a sustainable service environment based on a content ecosystem in a smart gallery. To continuously enrich contents, the proposed architecture presents spatial contents over physical objects, allows users to generate new contents by extending the contents and enables them to selectively share contents in real-time through a server. The proposed architecture also enables the generated and shared contents to behave intelligently, based on a layered response ...

There have been various kinds of studies addressing distributed collaboration systems. Most systems exploit 2D display or provide no communication among heterogeneous systems. Our proposed e-AG system has the following characteristics. Firstly, hardware and software of e-AG are composed in order to open the teleconference sharing 3D media among heterogeneous ...

We develop a vision-based tangible AR interface to support intuitive interaction with billiARds system. In order to enhance user's experience, we go a step further by adding forcefeedback to the tangible interface. Our primary contribution is incorporating force-feedback into AR without restraining mobility of the user. To achieve this, we design a wearable device for force- ...

However, most ways of describing context are specific to purpose of each service or give undue value to particular information, eg location. In this paper, we propose unified context, which describes usercentric situation without dependence on purpose of any service, in terms of 5W1H (Who, What, Where, When, How, and Why). The proposed ...
