Clear, mild Saturday evening

Clear and mild Saturday evening, ahead of slight storm chances Sunday.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: 9NEWS Weather Impact Team Meteorologist Laurann Robinson

THE FORECAST AT A GLANCE:

A clear, calm and mild evening ahead, great news for anyone out watching the Rocky Mountain Showdown!

For Sunday, another warm day, with highs reaching the upper 80s. We'll see mostly sunny skies, but watch for brief, spotty storms across the front range after 2 p.m. Storms are likely to become stronger and more widespread as they move across the plains. A Marginal risk for severe weather is in effect for the northern plains. Plan for gusty winds, locally-heavy downpours to be your biggest impacts.

Monday and Tuesday, highs stay warm, in the upper 80s, under sunny skies and dry conditions. If you'll be outside, prepare for gusty winds throughout the afternoon and evening hours.

As we push through the middle of next week, temperatures are expected to drop into the lower 80s Wednesday and Thursday. Watch for spotty showers to move in late Thursday.

Toward next weekend, fall-like weather is on-tap! Highs are looking to max out in the 70s, Friday and Saturday, with chances for showers each day.

The fall equinox is Sunday.
