The objective of this study was to assess the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise as an in... more The objective of this study was to assess the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise as an instrument of human capital development and poverty reduction in the Bwari Area Council of Nigeria. The study was a survey research sampling the opinion of 184entrrepreneurs in the Area Council. Their opinion was collected using a structured questionnaire. The data obtained was analysed by tabulation and percentages, and the formulated hypotheses tested using Kendal coefficient of concordance method. The findings revealed that MSMEs contributes to human capital developments and is a strategy for eradication of poverty, because it creates jobs for people, and improves their standard of living; and MSMEs contributes to increase in income level of people in the area. A perspective study of accountants in Nigeria was carried out to specifically determine the role of accountants in ensuring sustainable management of water and sanitation, sustainability of cities and human settlements, and sustainable consumption and production patterns. Cross-sectional survey research design was deployed for the study. A sample size of eighty-nine (89) chattered accountants was obtained from a population of seven hundred and seventy-two (772) professionally affiliated Accountants in Nigeria. Primary data were sourced from the questionnaires administered on the 89 sampled chattered accountants in Nigeria. Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test was used in hypotheses testing at 5% level of significance. Developing a supply chain that is effective is vital in securing greater increase in productivity... more Developing a supply chain that is effective is vital in securing greater increase in productivity in an organization. This study therefore investigates the effect of supply chain management on organizational productivity using Nigeria bottling company in the Federal Capital Territory-Abuja as case study. Quality management, inventory management and transportation management were the variables used to measure supply chain management for Nigeria bottling company. Data were collected from both primary and secondary source and the formulated hypotheses tested by means of regression analyses. The findings reveals that supply chain management has a significant positive effect on organizational productivity. Therefore this study among others recommended that organizations should focus adequately on developing its supply chain management capacity; such capacity would enable the organization adapt to its environment which will improve its organizational performance and productivity.

The objective of this study was to assess the impact of strategic human resource management (exte... more The objective of this study was to assess the impact of strategic human resource management (extensive training, empowerment, performance appraisal and performance based pay) on organizational performance (service quality) of selected deposit money banks in Abuja. The study was a survey research sampling the opinion of 77 staff of Zenith, Polaris, First bank and First city monument bank, Bwari branch. Their opinion was collected using a structured questionnaire. The data obtained was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The hypotheses were tested by means of correlation and multiple regressions. The study found significant relationship between extensive training, empowerment and performance based pay and service quality. There is also significant relationship between performance appraisal and service quality. The study concluded that Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) is important for improved service quality in Nigerian deposit money banks and therefore recommended among others the necessity for every staff of banks to be properly equipped with the skills, technical know-how required to carry out their task effectively; Training programs should target specific need areas of the employees and this should be organized timely given the rate of market and technology changes; Performance appraisal should be centred on pointing out the strength of the employees whilst addressing ways to improve them in areas where they are weak. Also Banks' human resource management should formulate and implement an active reward policy linked to the overall banks strategy. The reward policy should ensure that employees' rewards are matched with the employees' efforts.

The data obtained was analysed by tabulation and percentages, and the formulated hypotheses tested using Kendal coefficient of concordance method. The findings revealed that Banks marketing research efforts results to customer's need identification and customer's satisfaction; and that bank's customer's satisfaction through marketing research efforts enhances profitability in Abuja. The study concluded that for Deposit Money banks to maximize profit at optimum level, they have to expand the scope of marketing research and development in order to eliminate the risk involve in today's marketing trend. Therefore the study recommended among other things that Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria should strive to monitor the degree of customer's satisfaction with their services on a continuous basis through market situation analysis. This way, the banks will be able to see areas requiring improvement thereby facilitating the much-desired satisfactory delivery of financial services to Abuja residents. Also Banks should intensify their research efforts to provide timely information on product development and other areas that will have positive influence on their operations. It seems that the provisions of these school facilities have dwindled over the years, perhaps due to increase in school enrolment rate which had led to population explosion in public schools. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of physical working condition on effective teaching and learning in public secondary schools of Bwari Area Council Abuja, Nigeria. The study is a survey research and the population of the study consists of 540 teachers of 11 public secondary schools in the Council with sample size of 230 determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. Primary data was used through the administration of questionnaire, and the formulated hypotheses tested by Kendal coefficient of concordance method. The findings of the study revealed that Conducive physical working condition; Instructional materials, learning facilities like computers, flips chart and audio-visual disc increases students learning and enhance academic performance; Functional facilities like classrooms furniture’s and libraries improve students’ reading habits, hence increase their performance. Also, the location of Schools encourages parents to enroll their children in Public Secondary Schools. The study concluded that Physical working conditions and school location are effective tool for educational development in general, has a positive impact on the students ‘academic performance. It recommended among others that Federal Capital Education Board Abuja and other Government agencies urgently need to upgrade teaching facilities to meet up with modern demands of secondary school education. Digital facilities should be provided in schools. While the schools’ managers on their part should also try to maintain and manage them very well, also Public Secondary Schools should be located in an area that can provide adequate Playgrounds, gardens and common rooms to enable the students have good recreational activities. And all stakeholders in the school system like Parents, Teachers Association (PTA) have a duty to rise up and contribute to upgrade School facilities in Bwari Area Council of Abuja.

The objective of this study was to investigate the Effect of Work Environment on Teacher Commitment to duty in selected Secondary Schools of South Eastern Nigeria, with emphasis on Nsukka metropolis. Teachers are important components of a work process and have to be given the necessary facilitation for effective and efficient service delivery. The study employed field survey research design. Population of this study was 156 teaching staff of the selected secondary schools in Nsukka metropolis. The sample size of the study was 112 respondents from the selected schools. Primary data were collected through questionnaire from the sampled schools. Correlation Pearson Coefficient and multiple regression techniques were employed to analyse the collected data. The results revealed that interpersonal relationship, workload and physical working condition determine teacher's commitment level. While communication though has positive effect on commitment level, does not significantly determine the commitment level of the teachers. The study recommends that to ensure high commitment level of teachers, adequate attention must be paid to the work environment like interpersonal relationship, workload and physical work condition as these are important factors that trigger the commitment level of the teachers and by so doing, the overall organizational performance is guaranteed.
