The New Testament opens with the birth and childhood of Jesus. It is the beginning event of the gospel. It marks the time and the manner that God chose to bring about the redemption of mankind. The greatness of this event is reflected in the Gospel birth narratives. God’s hand is clearly at work in the unfolding events.
