Janet Hoskins
Janet Hoskins is an anthropologist who studies religion, visual anthropology, and material culture in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia and Vietnam. Her first book, The Play of Time, won the 1996 Benda Prize in Southeast Asian Studies. Her second book, Biographical Objects, is a best selling book in the new field of “object studies”. Her third book The Divine Eye and the Diaspora looks at the new Vietnamese religion of Caodaism and its Transpacific movements. She has also made ethnographic documentaries and edited four books.
