Thanks to Information Technology developments in the field of cultural heritage, archaeological-architectural surveying offers, as the result of the knowledge process, digital models, which may be used to construct dedicated Systems, where the fundamental requisite is spatial 3-D data reference. A complete archaeological GIS was produced in this study for the site of Al Bass, Tyre in Lebanon. Starting with detailed data and numerous photographic and cartographic documents, a GIS
project was developed for the integrated management of maps and charts, whose geometric, topological and identification data are managed by relational databases (RDBMS), correctly georeferenced in an internationally recognised system. The concept of 3-D modelling is circumvented in favor of a “management” concept, focusing on the real rendering of compositional elements, which may be catalogued and queried in a single project with dynamic maps, by means of 3D views in ArcScene. The use of advanced software, such as those of the
ESRI 10.2 packet, make it possible to develop a number of operationally advanced tools and extensions that in turn permit processing the 3D map by positioning it in 3D environment. All data are managed through the Geodatabase focusing on the concept, which is today fundamental in terms of international operability between systems, of Metadata, as set forth by the INSPIRE directive, which are managed automatically by the system. The potential of the GIS as a conservation and restoration data management tool is thus used in a field such as that of cultural heritage, where this software is offering an increasing number of new and interesting application scenarios.

Si presentano i primi risultati della ricerca che riguarda l’individuazione di una metodologia innovativa
GIS based che consenta di effettuare indagini spaziali sulle superfici pittoriche e sui loro supporti.
L’analisi di un dipinto sia rispetto alla superficie pittorica, che del suo supporto ha come finalità il poter
dare delle informazioni preliminari sullo stato di conservazione dell’opera prima di passare ad altre
indagini più accurate. A partire dall’interpretazione dell’immagine estrapolando i valori del colore e/o da
rilievi tridimensionali si applicano strumenti di valutazione quali-quantitativa sulla distribuzione spaziale
degli elementi. Sulla superficie pittorica si applicano analisi colorimetriche tramite una vettorializzazione
dei pixel e dei relativi valori RGB, associate ad analisi grafiche e metriche sulla composizione
iconografica; sullo stato di conservazione, ed ancora analisi di Pattern Recognition per arrivare alla
definizione di elementi connessi ad eventuali attacchi biologici. I dati tridimensionale soprattutto per i
supporti, permettono di valutare la morfologia dell’opera e le sue variazioni nel tempo, e quindi poter
monitorare l’opera utilizzando questi strumenti per una manutenzione programmata. La ricerca è stata
condotta su diversi dipinti di artisti di fama internazionale, quali Bosch, Pagani, Crivelli e Lotto,
verificando l’applicabilità e l’utilità del metodo per arrivare ad una proposta di linee guida dei processi
analizzati.

Il progetto sviluppato mira ad integrare in un GIS archeologico tutte le informazioni legate ai principali templi megalitici delle isole di Malta e di Gozo (Ggantija, Mnajdra, Hagar Qim, Ta’Hagrat e Skorba), rovine monumentali di un'antica e misteriosa civiltà apparsa nel neolitico. L’impiego dei sistemi
informativi territoriali permette di risolvere la dispersione e la disorganizzazione dei dati che solitamente affligge la gestione e l’analisi dei siti archeologici. La ricerca propone la costruzione di un progetto GIS che riunisca tutte le informazioni disponibili dei templi storiche, archivistiche, di rilievo, ecc. per studiarne
l’evoluzione storico-costruttiva, la conformazione, i rilievi legati alle diverse campagne archeologiche succedutesi nel tempo ed eventuali confronti su elementi di dettaglio, a partire dai recenti rilievi laser scanner. La parte applicativa è stata  sviluppata con la collaborazione delle società ABC s.a.s. di Firenze e Leica Geosystem s.r.l. e con diverse istituzioni maltesi (Ministry for Gozo, Heritage Malta – Authority concerns oneself in the archaeological sites, Restoration Unit – Ministry for resources and Infrastructure concerns oneself in preservation and valuation of cultural heritage) all’interno del Programma maltese 2004- 2007 dei Fondi Strutturali Europei nelle linee che riguardavano la documentazione dei Templi megalitici delle isole di Malta e Gozo. La georeferenziazione dei rilievi topografici e laser scanner, della cartografia a disposizione, delle immagini è stata effettuata nel sistema ED50_UTM secondo il sistema cartografico nazionale maltese, e gestita tramite il geodatabase, unico contenitore in grado di inserire regole e relazioni. L’estensione Patch Analyst ha consentito di sviluppare alcune elaborazioni tridimensionali gestite in ArcScene, sia come visualizzazione tridimensionale dei  Multipatch derivanti dai rilievi laser scanner sia per una corretta
conformazione geomorfologica del territorio utilizzato come base height per le mappe dei templi. L’interazione fra i rilievi di dettaglio e un software evoluto quale ArcGIS consente di creare un progetto complesso di gestione dei siti archeologici non solo per aspetti di conservazione e restauro, ma anche per attività di valorizzazione di queste importanti emergenze storiche.

The study covers the geomorphological transformations of the area in which the city of Urbino rises, starting from the first  Roman settlement, until reaching the nineteenth-­‐century nucleus and the current situation. The design of the walled city and its immediate surroundings is analysed with GIS tools, that
allow one to manage data in a georeferenced way, to evaluate the changes of urban expansions in the various historical periods and to represent them not only from a qualitative point of view but also a quantitative one. The representations of the analysis make use of all the 2D and 3D devices available for a greater understanding of the data analysed.

We would like to propose a new methodological approach that can be used in different geological and geomorphological contests to analyze Geosytes through the realization of vectorial maps and the construction of relational database. General finalities of the project are to represent the territory in all its different aspects in a way the most possible close to reality. Landscape analisys happens through a process of census and integration among elements that characterize it enhancing scientific and environmental meanings with use of a particolar form produced by ISPRA turning it into a relational database connected with a specific GIS cartography. This standardized methodology is based on Minimal Land Unit, that define in a unique way the Geosiyte with its areal charateristics, as units of 1 Km2. The application of a standardized methodology of survey and informatization of Geosite, mean in a geographic way as cultural heritage, is developed in relation to a site that embodies the characteristics of a botanical park and open-air museum with works of pure LandArt perfectly integrated in the territory, the Park-Museum Sant'Anna Furlo (northern Marche). It identifies a reference area on a kilometric grid provided by the EEA (European Environmental Agency) in which falls the site developing a series of maps of the territory (primarily land use according to a standardized methodology of survey and habitat monitoring, the Biohab) even three-dimensional, going to attribute all the general information on the area covered by Schedule ISPRA for Geosite that already allow a framework of the whole environment in which the works are placed and providing a fundamental geotouristic tool. La città fortificata di Baku, Icherisheher, è stata descritta come uno dei migliori esempi di città che ha conservato la sua stratigrafia storica da più di mille anni, evidenziandone tutte le influenze e permettendo di seguirne la sua evoluzione nel tempo. The approach to Geosyte concept it provides a new defition by introducing the notion of “Geographic defined portion of a territory managed in its spatial aspects and in its cultural contents with a Geographic Information System”. It therefore analyzes a portion of land of special cultural value in its geographic connotations in order to represent it in its entirety. We make use of cross-disciplinary approach that makes it possible to develop a complete inventory of Geosites nationally and internationally thanks to the determination of a standardized methodology for computerization of all the features about the good itself. It builds a Geographic Information System, which combines in a single project all the Geosyte geographical, scientific and cultural informations identifying it uniquely through polygons with standard size of 1km² (Areas Minimum Sample) or multiples of them, connected to a relational database wich contains all the information about the Geosyte provided by the ISPRA...

I fenicotteri possiedono un complesso modello demografico e dispersivo scandito dai movimenti migratori. Le migrazioni sono movimenti che costituiscono un meccanismo periodico che si realizza nel corso del ciclo biologico di un animale e lo portano a compiere distanze a volte enormi ma, nel caso dei fenicotteri, sempre condizionate dalla presenza delle aree umide che questi animali frequentano sia per alimentarsi che per riprodursi. La più diffusa tecnica per studiare queste migrazioni è l'applicazione di anelli alle zampe degli uccelli.
