Nesvizh (Nieśwież) – the town of the Radziwiłł family, and at the same time the centre of the act... more Nesvizh (Nieśwież) – the town of the Radziwiłł family, and at the same time the centre of the activity of a number of monastic institutions, especially the Jesuits sponsored by Mikołaj Krzysztof Radziwiłł – is an interesting example of how magnate religiosity was built and what was its scope. The renunciation of Calvinism and the model of miles christianus implemented over the years became the basis for Radziwiłł’s religious, social, and political activities, but it was also continued by his successors, the successive guardians of the Nesvizh estate. Their role model that combined models of a citizen, a Christian and a believing Church’s religious attitude was built on personal contacts, reading, and texts produced in the surroundings of the court or at his request. This model being perpetuated in communication, texts created for and inspired by ordinands and their families is the best example of coexistence and mutual influence of secular and the ecclesiastical communities in creating and strengthening the identity of the magnates in the context of the roles proposed and ennobled by orders in the post-Tridentine era.

Preparing graduate information architects whose professional competences are obviously related to... more Preparing graduate information architects whose professional competences are obviously related to information processing – especially in a digital environment – requires equipping them with relevant knowledge of widely understood intellectual property rights protection. A question needs to be asked whether information architecture student can acquire sufficient competence during the basic training in the protection of intellectual property , obligatory for all first degree university courses in Poland, or is it necessary/advisable to introduce an additional specialist subject taking into account of the specific nature of the profession and the dynamic development of new technologies which constantly generates new challenges in this area.
In 1609 Peter Korkonos, the new rector (parish priest) of the St. Peter Church in Vilnius wrote a... more In 1609 Peter Korkonos, the new rector (parish priest) of the St. Peter Church in Vilnius wrote an inventory of this church. It’s the oldest inventory of the church we know today. Two fragments of this document have been found in the collections of the Archive of Vilnius Archdiocese and The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania. In this edition these two fragments of the historical source have been combined and commented. Particular attention has been paid to the problem of books, which were the property of the church at this time. The most relevant facts from the history of St. Peter Church are also mentioned in this work. The first wooden church founded about 1492–1507 burned down. The management of the parish and the years of restoration were documented by Peter Korkonos. After the death of the parson St. Peter Church was handed over to the Canons Regular of the Lateran.
