The “Historein” is considered as a constructive element of the museum’s practice
and operation. It includes such as the historiography as the narration in order
to communicate, the museum’s meanings. The both sides of “Historein” coexist
and complete each other, in museum. The narration of the objects stories to the
museum’s visitors is based on the historical research and is succeeded by the
narrative construction of the exhibition. The object in the exhibition’s environment,
has the eloquence to speak for thinks that outcome it’s unique “ego”. Every
object separately narrates more than one stories which have a dynamic evolution
throughout the time. The objects documentation traces their travel on time
and consists the foundation stone of the museum’s narration, which is presented
by the objects, images, texts and multimedia applications in an exhibition. The
development of “Historein” in an informal learning environment, is succeeded
with the activities which provide its recreational role and target not only to the
visitors acquire the historical knowledge but also to have a pleasant experience
of learning in museum. This article presents as an example of “historein” in
museum, the educational program of NHM, «The daily life of Greeks during the
18th and 19th cent.» which introduce the children of the age of 12 and 15 years old (6th and 9th school classes) in the historical research in order to reveal, by a
pleasant interactive way, the stories of the daily life of Greeks which the museum’s objects and documents narrate.

Seventeen from them are “pendules” made in France, dating from the early to the middle of the 19th cent, decorated with subjects –matters inspired from philhellenic art, during the Greek war of the Independence. Some of them made of porcelain, others of bronze, they are decorated with rococo elements, and transfer us into the romantic and liberal spirit of their time “en faveur des Grecs”, “in support of liberty for the Greeks”.

At the beginning of 20th century the National Historical Museum introduces in collection an object special, unique witness such as of the life and personality of its owner as of the technology and the scientific discoveries of 18thcent.. It is an electrostatic machine Ramsden belonged to Emanuel Tompazi who was a very important ownership, and Fighter of the War of the Greek Independence, from Hydra. This relic travel us in the era when the Greeks merchants travelling, transport the new ideas and the new technological achievements from the European cities to their country.
