Has conducted research on the effects of methanol extract of leaves papaya (Carica papaya L.) Against Lipase Enzyme Activity. This study aimed to obtain information in a methanol extract inhibits lipase activity. The method used is Complete Random Design (RAL), with goal attainment is done by determining the incubation time lipase enzyme, pH optimum lipase enzyme, and maximum substrate concentration lipase enzyme. And determining the effect of the methanol extract to inhibit the lipase enzyme activity. The results showed that the best incubation time of lipase obtained by time of 120 minutes, the optimum pH 7 and the maximum substrate concentration of 4%. With the highest activity were obtained 16.94 mol /ml.menit, 13.33 mol / ml.menit, and 12.89 mol / ml.menit. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang studi perbandingan rendemen produksi xantofil dengan karoten kapang oncom merah pada berbagai waktu inkubasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah rendemen fraksi kelompok xantofil dan karoten dari berbagai waktu inkubasi kapang oncom merah pada medium tongkol jagung. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengukur absorbansi ekstrak xantofil dan karoten pada instrumen spektrofotometer uv vis, parameter yang diamati adalah waktu inkubasi spora kapang oncom merah. Waktu inkubasi yang digunakan adalah dimulai dari hari ke 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, dan ke 7. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa waktu inkubasi yang menghasilkan jumlah rendemen xantofil efektif pada hari ke 3 dengan rerata rendemen sebesar 4,435%. Has done research about antioxidant activity of suweg tuber (Amorphophallus campamulatus) based on the level of polar solvent. This research begins with in phased maceration extraction using n-hexane, ethyl acetate dan ethanol. Next step was antioxidant activity test with tyocyanate to n-hexane extract and DPPH methods to ethanol extract, ethyl acetate and vitamin C. The result showed antioxidant activity in n-hexane extract i.e. 14,96 %, end 77,13 % BHT while in ethyl acetate, ethanol and vitamin C reached IC50 value are 458,102 ppm, 223,268 ppm dan 26,76 ppm. The research about “The Effect of Variation of the Type of Acid on Gelatine Yield from Cakalang Fish Bone (Katsuwonus pelamis)”. The aim of this research was to determine the higher gelatine rendament using various of type of acid. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD), each treatment was done in duplo.The acid variation in this research were Chloride, Sulphate, Phosphoric, Acetic, Oxalate and Citrate acid respectively. Research on the effect of chitin deacetylation processing times from shells of snails on the degree of deacetylation has conducted with a variations of 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes and 150 minutes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of times improvement in the chitin deacetylation process of the degree of deacetylation. The degree of deacetylation is determined using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The results show the degree of deacetylation increases with the length of time the process of deacetylation that is 60 minutes to produce the degree of deacetylation of 55.6%, a degree of deacetylation of 90 minutes produces 62.4%, 120 minutes produces 70.3% degree of deacetylation, and time 150 minutes to produce the degree of deacetylation of 84.3%. So that, the length of time spent on the process of deacetylation of chitin from a snail shells, can increase the degree of deacetylation. The investigation about the antioxidant activity of tembelekan (Lantana camara L) leaf extract based on level polar solvent . Has been done the aim of this study was to determine the IC50 value and to know the content of antioxidant compounds from tembelekan leaf extract based on the level of polar solvent the extraction of tembelekan leaf was done with maceration method . Antioxidant activity of Purnajiwa (Kopsia arborea Blume.) fruit has been investigated.The fruit was extracted by various solvents such as n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol. The aim of the research is to define a class of compounds and antioxidant activity. The compounds test was conducted by the phytochemical method. The results showed that the purnajiwa fruit extract is classified as secondary metabolites of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, alkaloids, and steroids. The antioxidant activity was tested by DPPH method and the amount of antioxidant activity was characterized by IC50 values. The result indicated that the antioxidant activity (IC50) for n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol solvents is 3524.05 ppm, 316.09 ppm, and 154.89 ppm respectively.Keywords: Purnajiwa Fruit, Antioxidant, DPPH, Phytochemicals

The research about the influence of NaOH concentrations and reaction temperature to O-Carboxymethyl Chitosan (O-CMC) synthesis and it is antibacterial application was done. This research intent on detect NaOH concentration and reaction temperature that resulting of O-CMC with highest of yield, solubility, and substitution degrees, and also to find out FTIR spectrum and antibacterial activity of O-CMC. The produce of O-CMC was done by using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the variation of NaOH concentration of 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60%, and also reaction temperature of 20, 30, and 40oC. The result was showed that on the NaOH concentration of 60% (w/v) and temperature of 30oC was resulted highest of yield, solubility, and substitution degrees of 41.5%, 31 g/L, and 0.67, respectively. Telah dilakukan penelitian Optimasi Kondisi Reaksi untuk Sintesis Karboksimetil Selulosa (CMC) dari Batang Jagung (Zea mays L.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan rasio natrium monokloroasetat : selulosa dan waktu reaksi terbaik dalam sintesis karboksimetil selulosa dari batang jagung sehingga diperoleh rendemen dan derajat subsitusi tertinggi. Variasi rasio yang digunakan adalah 4:5, 5:5, 6:5, 7:5, 8:5 dan 9:5 gram sedangkan waktu reaksi yang digunakan yaitu 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6 jam. Kondisi optimum reaksi dalam sintesis karboksimetil selulosa dari batang jagung diperoleh pada penggunaan rasio 6:5 gram natrium monokloroasetat : selulosa dengan menggunakan 4 jam waktu reaksi. Karboksimetil selulosa yang dihasilkan pada penggunaan rasio terbaik memiliki rendemen sebesar 96,36% dan derajat substitusi yaitu 0,839. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak batang kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) berdasarkan tingkat kepolaran pelarut. Penelitian ini diawali dengan melakukan ekstraksi menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, selanjutnya dengan pelarut etil asetat, dan etanol. Hasil ekstraksi dengan masing-masing pelarut diuji aktivitas antioksidannya dengan metode DPPH. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa nilai IC50 pada ekstrak n-heksan, etil asetat, etanol masing – masing adalah 711,67 ppm, 760,73 ppm, 535,78 ppm dan sebagai pembanding asam askorbat diperoleh nilai IC50 51,78 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, aktivitas antioksidan terbaik adalah pada tingkat pelarut bersifat polar (ekstrak etanol) dibandingkan dengan tingkat kepolaran pelarut lainnya.Kata Kunci : Batang Kecombrang,  Ekstraksi,  Antioksidan

Telah dilakukan ekstraksi dan karakterisasi pektin dari kulit dan dami buah Cempedak (Artocarpus chempedan) dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis pelarut dan waktu ekstraksi terbaik yang diperlukan untuk menghasilkan rendemen pektin tertinggi. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 2 faktor, yaitu jenis pelarut yang terdiri idar 3 taraf (asam sitrat, asam klorida, dan asam asetat) dan waktu eksraksi terdiri dari 5 taraf (30, 60, 90, 120, dan 150 menit) yang masing-masing dilakukan sebanyak dua kali pengulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan jenis pelarut terbaik adalah asam sitrat dengan rendemen 38,85% dan waktu terbaik diperoleh pada waktu 90 menit dengan rendemen 34,65%. Pektin yang diperoleh mengandung kadar air 5,5 %; kadar metoksil 12,4%; kadar galakturonat 71,6%; dan kadar abu 6 %.Kata Kunci : Pektin, kulit dan dami Cempedak, pelarut, waktu ekstraksi

Research on extraction and characterization of crude carrageenan from seaweed (eucheuma cottoni) has been carried out. The research aims to determine the optimum extraction time and temperature of crude carrageenan extract from seaweed (eucheuma cottoni). Crude Carrageenan was extracted from seaweed (eucheuma cottoni) by dissolving crushed seaweed in 8% KOH with variation  of  extraction times are 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 2.5 hours and 3 hours, and temperatures are 50, 70, 90, 110 and 130oC. The results were analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results show that the optimum extraction time in producing the best quality of crude carrageenan is 2 hours at 50oC with percentage is 78.4%, viscosity is 9.155 cP, sulphate content is 3.102% and gel strength is 7 g. Telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan fraksi massa metil ester asam oleat tertinggi dari rasio minyak biji kelor/metanol (v/v) serta waktu reaksi dalam proses metanolisis minyak biji kelor serta komposisi dari metil ester asam oleat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan variasi rasio minyak biji kelor/metanol 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:6 dan 1:7 (v/v) serta variasi waktu reaksi 30 menit, 60 menit, 90 menit, 120 menit dan 150 menit. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan rasio minyak biji kelor/metanol  meningkatkan fraksi massa metil ester asam oleat dengan fraksi massa maksimum (72.61%) terdapat pada penggunaan rasio minyak biji kelor/metanol 1:7 (v/v). Demikian pula pada pengaruh waktu reaksi yang menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan waktu reaksi meningkatkan fraksi massa metil ester asam oleat dengan fraksi massa maksimum (78.75%) terdapat pada penggunaan waktu reaksi 150 menit. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Karakterisasi Pigmen Hasil Ekstraksi Air-Etanol Dari Buah Senggani (Melastoma malabathricum). Penelitian ini diawali dengan melakukan ekstraksi buah senggani secara maserasi menggunakan enam perbandingan kombinasi volume pelarut air:etanol yaitu 0:100; 5:95; 10:90; 15:85; 20:80 dan 25:75. Rendemen terbaik dari ekstraksi buah senggani didapatkan dari perbandingan pelarut 0:100 yaitu 4,7 %. Kemudian Ekstrak dianalisis dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis, FTIR dan uji golongan senyawa. Spektrum UV-Vis ekstrak buah senggani dihasilkan pada panjang gelombang 540 nm dan interpretasi FTIR menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak mengandung gugus fungsi seperti O-H alkohol, C-O-C eter, C=C aromatik, C-H aromatik.  Hasil uji golongan menunjukkan ekstrak mengandung senyawa flavonoid jenis antosianin.Kata kunci : Buah senggani, ekstraksi,  antosianin

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu perendaman dan rasio antara berat tulang ikan mujair terhadap volume asam sitrat 9% (b/v) dalam menghasilkan gelatin dengan rendemen tertinggi dan mutu terbaik. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 taraf waktu kontak yaitu 24, 36, 48, 60,dan 72 jam dan 5 taraf rasio berat tulang ikan mujair: asam sitrat 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5 dan 1:6. Penentuan pengaruh waktu perendaman dan rasio dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pembobotan berdasarkan hasil uji statistik dengan menggunakan 5 parameter pengujian yakni rendemen, kadar abu, kadar air, viskositas, dan kekuatan gel. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh waktu perendaman dengan menggunakan 5 parameter tertinggi adalah 36 jam dan rasio adalah 1:6, dengan rendemen 9,439%, kadar abu 2,8%, kadar air 5,81%, viskositas 5,24 cP, dan kekuatan gel terbaik 38,1 mm/kg.sKata kunci : Gelatin, tulang ikan mujair, asam sitrat, viskositas, kekuatan gel

A research about production of Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)  from pineapple midrib (Ananas cosmosus Merr.) has been conducted.  This research aims to determine the best cellulose ratio with sodium monochloro acetate and the best reaction time to the substitution  degree of carboxymethyl cellulose from pineapple midrib fibers.  This study used a Completely Randomized Design method with two independent variables,  i.e. variations in the weight of sodium monochloroacetate (2.5 grams, 3 grams, 3.5 grams, 4 grams, and 4.5 grams) and variations in reaction time (1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours , and 5 hours), each treatment was done  duplo using 20 treatment units. Research on the antioxidant potential of the secondary metabolite compound, ethyl acetate from ebony bark (Diospyros celebica Bakh.) has been conducted. This study aims to characterize and determine the antioxidant activity of secondary metabolites of ethyl acetate fraction from ebony bark. Ethyl acetate extract was fractionated using Liquid Vacum Chromatography (KVC) and Gravity Column Chromatography (KKG). The isolated compounds were characterized using UV-Vis and IR spectrophotometers. Data on maximum absorption of λmax 273 nm from UV-Vis analysis showed the presence of chromophore phenol. IR spectral data showed several specific peaks, among others, at wave number (ʋ) of 3425.58 cm-1 indicating the presence of –OH group, C-H aliphatic bond at ʋ of  2924.09 cm-1  and 2854.65 cm-1, and the peak at ʋ of 1604.77 -1465.90 cm-1 and 3078.39 cm-1 indicated the aromatic group, reinforcing the assumption that the isolates produced were phenolic compounds. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Uji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun mayana (Coleus atropurpureus [L] Benth.) dari beberapa tingkat kepolaran pelarut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak daun mayana terhadap bakteri gram positif (Streptococcus mutans) dan bakteri gram negatif (Shigella dysenteriae) berdasarkan tingkat kepolaran pelarut. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode maserasi dengan 4 tingkat polaritas pelarut yang dimulai dari pelarut non polar (n-heksan), diikuti dengan pelarut semipolar (etil asetat dan kloroform) dan pelarut polar (etanol). Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan uji metode sumur difusi, dan parameter yang diamati adalah diameter daya hambat. Penelitian tentang potensi ubi banggai (Dioscorea bulbifera var celebica Burkill)  sebagai pewarna alami makanan dan minuman yang ditinjau dari stabilitas pH dan paparan sinar matahari telah dilaksanakan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kestabilan ekstrak ubi banggai terhadap pengaruh pH dan terhadap paparan sinar matahari selama masa penyimpanan. Waktu yang digunakan adalah 10 hari untuk penyimpanan terhadap pengaruh pH dan 5 jam untuk paparan sinar matahari. Hasil penelitian menunjukan zat warna ekstrak ubi banggai stabil pada pH 2 setelah masa penyimpanan 10 hari dengan presentasi degradasi 37.38 % sementara pengaruh paparan sinar matahari menghasilkan degradasi terendah pada botol gelap yaitu 36,91 % dibandingkan dengan botol bening 41,96 %.Kata Kunci : Zat warna, stabilitas ubi banggai, degradasi
