The left-wing press in general, and especially the one written by women, is a vast and partially explored reservoir. To recreate and understand it's militant strategies, a complex reconstruction of the social scheme is required. In this article, we are going to analyze two publications: one anarchist and another socialist. There for, we have selected one recurrent topic in this field, that of war, through the critical analysis of discourse.
In this paper aim to investigate the interactions between conceptions of masculinity and political performance during the period 1960 and 1973. We analyze the representations offered by four films released during those years about different forms of political participation. We start from the hypothesis that the ways in which these forms are characterized in a society would be influenced by the various traits that assume the masculinities in it, and especially dominant masculinity. Returning to a series of conceptualizations about masculinities proposed by different authors, we conclude that there are indications that would allow us to affirm that conceptions about political action during this stage were crossed by certain characteristic features of dominant masculinities. Recurrently and insistently in the different films analyzed, the desired or supposed political action is linked to attributes such as strength, courage, sacrifice, resistance and lack of emotions, while the woman is conceived as a " complement ", while the notion of "precarious man" also appears.
