By taking into account the importance of the author’s linguistic pastiche, the analysis focuses on the homage paid by Arbasino to Proust in the two editions of Parigi o cara and in the three editions of Fratelli d’Italia. The aim is to outline the way in which Arbasino describes Proust’s biographic and artistic experience and to classify the different kinds of textual references and quotations that he borrows from the Recherche.

Benjamin’s definition of constellation will show the link between Godardian recollection of filmic images in Histoire(s) du cinéma and proustian reminiscence. Then, based on the fact that Albertine is often evoked in Godard’s writings, the study will focus on an episode taken from À l’ombre des jeunes filles en fleurs in which the narrator quotes two expressions uttered by Albertine and the petite bande and coinciding with two film titles: Vivre sa vie and Bande à part. The aim of this article is to demonstrate that Godard makes films about Recherche even if he had never been involved in Nicole Stéphane’s project.

During «La Soirée chez les Verdurin», M. de Charlus lists his titles of nobility in order to assert his superiority over the other guests. Among the many titles, he also refers to that of «prince de Viareggio». However, this is the only title that directly relates neither to the history of France nor to the plot of À la recherche du temps perdu. In order to test the historical accuracy of this title, the genesis of the episode will first be investigated. Then, after analysing the notes related to it in Italian and French editions of La Recherche, the study will focus on historical pieces of evidence, e.g. the stays of Paolina Bonaparte and the Bourbon-Parma family in Viareggio, and Shelley's last journey. Literary sources, such as Michelet's La Mer, that could have led Proust to invent this title and assign it to M. de Charlus, will also be examined.

In Sodome et Gomorrhe, the hero meets the Princesse d’Orvillers; in Le Temps retrouvé, the same character is named Princesse de Nassau. I will first address the analogies between the fictional figure and the real-life inspiration, the Marquise d’Hervey. In order to outline the princess’ personality, I will investigate the textual genesis of the episodes that concern the figure. Finally, the combined analysis of extradiegetic and intradiegetic portraits of the marquise/princess will show that the change in her surname is related to historical and fictional issues.

We present a work of retro-digitization and terminological study of a corpus of letters exchanged between Proust and his mother. The identified medical terminology constitutes the object of investigation to illustrate how specialized lexical units emigrate from intimate writings to join the experimental laboratory of the novel. The illustrated case study will focus on the term “trional” and its evolution from the Correspondance to the Recherche
