The site is located near Trento (Italy) at the edge of the morphological terrace found at the base of the south-western slope of Mount Calisio. We here analyse the geological and geomorphological context of the site, taking into account the geological and structural setting of the Adige Valley and its morphological evolution during the late Quaternary. The data collected indicate that the formation of the rockshelter was strongly influenced by factors related to structural control, glacial and glacial-contact processes, as well as karstic ones, while its infilling during the Holocene is mainly due to anthropogenic processes, together with gravitational and slope dynamics.

progressive number assigned on the basis of the altimetrie limit; name of the place; province; altitude; typology; chronology and bibliography. Other tables were drawn up comparing the altimetrical values of Upper Palaeolithic sites (Tab. 1) to those of Early Mesolithic (Tab. 2), Late Mesolithic (Tab. 3) and Mesolithic s.l. (Tab. 4) , together with three maps of sites distribution, corresponding to the following chronology: - Upper Palaeolithic (Fig. 2), - Early Mesolithic - Late Sauveterrian and Mesolithic Castelnovian (Fig. 3), - Mesolithic s.l.
