Reconstructing dynamics that emerged from a project on literary texts
and racism in Italy, propos... more Reconstructing dynamics that emerged from a project on literary texts and racism in Italy, proposed in 2021 in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Bologna, the article aims to reflect on the positive aspects, limits and critical issues of the path. The reflection will focus on specific aspects related to the project: the methods and choices of developing the work carried out with students, colleagues and teachers; the central role of the connection between text, body and experiences of racialized authors; the questioning of the rigid opposition between artistic quality and political value of literary works; and the need for cultural productions based on listening to historically marginalized voices. The proposed analysis will also be connected to broader aspects: the gap between anti-racist and decolonial projects and the real democratization of university; the question of responsibility, positioning and privilege in the university; the challenges posed by the “professionalising” insertion of professors into the neoliberal university system and the geopolitics of power in which this reality operates; and the importance of continuing to enact practices of decolonizing teaching and research, while being aware of the limits of these attempts. Finally, it will be proposed to interpret the university as a ‘crossing space’ in order to deconstruct the rhetoric of belonging and permanence – namely, ‘being of the university’ – and promote the idea of a space of connections that is open and capable of building transformative networks and alliances.

L'esigenza di riconoscere il processo di invisibilizzazione di voci afrodiscendenti nelle società... more L'esigenza di riconoscere il processo di invisibilizzazione di voci afrodiscendenti nelle società segnate dalle eredità del colonialismo europeo comporta la necessità di nominare ciò che è stato rimosso e marginalizzato, creando nuove categorie identitarie. Questo articolo intende riflettere sull'attuale discussione intorno alle terminologie che definiscono la presenza e identità afrodiscendente nell'ambito letterario portoghese e brasiliano: literatura negra, literatura afrodescendente, literatura afrolusitana/portuguesa/brasileira. Analizzando similitudini, differenze e influenze tra Brasile e Portogallo, si cercherà di comprendere come queste categorie vengono assunte e discusse da autori, autrici, critiche e critici e come un dialogo afroatlantico possa sia incentivare la decolonizzazione e la riscrittura dei canoni letterari nazionali, sia aprire spazi di riflessione su dinamiche comuni e transnazionali.
Investigando a temporalidade fantasmagórica que assombra nosso contemporâneo através das categori... more Investigando a temporalidade fantasmagórica que assombra nosso contemporâneo através das categorias da pós-memória (HIRSCH, 1997) e da memória multidirecional (ROTHBERG, 2009), o presente artigo visa aplicar o conceito de “memória poética” na análise da recente produção poética da comunidade afrodescendente em Portugal e, em particular, da poesia produzida por mulheres na diáspora africana. Seguindo uma antiga tradição de luta e resistência de mulheres africanas ao colonialismo português, a memória das mulheres negras em Portugal torna-se uma contra-história que combate as heranças coloniais no presente, tentando criar uma memória cultural, plural e coletiva da comunidade afrodiscendente no país. O livro Memórias Aparições Arritmias, de Yara Nakahanda Monteiro, insere-se nessa tradição feminina de combate e exemplifica as questões críticas e teóricas em jogo através da prática poética de relembrar o passado para criar uma memória partilhável que ilumine o presente e o futuro de uma ...
O presente artigo propõe apresentar o romance A visão das plantas, de Djaimilia Pereira de Almeid... more O presente artigo propõe apresentar o romance A visão das plantas, de Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, através de uma chave de leitura ecocrítica e pós-colonial, a fim de destacar a relevância desse livro na produção literária da autora e no panorama da literatura da pós-memória afrodescendente. Em Portugal, a ecocrítica é uma disciplina que ainda não tem sido suficientemente utilizada como possibilidade metodológica de desconstrução das oposições binárias entre cultura/natureza e humano/não-humano que fundam o binómio colonizador/colonizado. A visão das plantas possibilita essa leitura ecocrítica de questões pós-coloniais, enfatizando em particular o tema da culpa. Para se inserir no grande debate da literatura, o romance conta uma história colonial visando descolonizar aquele mesmo passado que as segundas e terceiras gerações de afrodescendentes questionam no Portugal contemporâneo.
