In this SBL 2017 Presentation, kentwell guides readers through a few of the Logia in the Gospel of Thomas to open up a conversation surrounding the usage of binaries. Kentwell is developing the theory for this thesis project in which Light and Death are part of a discursive constellations in the Gospel of Thomas that reflect a monographic theme of the Undivided. This project's hypothesis is that Thomas is a metacommentary on various discourses at the time and is meant to be read out loud in community gatherings of philosophers: on the ground philosophers.

By particularizing himself, kentwell stands in as a data point for critical whiteness studies as he hones in on James Perkinson and Christopher Driscoll's definitions of whiteness and white religion.

This is an early draft of a project that is under heavy revision in which kentwell is working out definitions of whiteness as a religious practice. This paper was written prior to kentwell's semester under the guidance of Dr. Christopher M. Driscoll (Lehigh University). But in this piece, kentwell begins to consider the ways in which white religion might be undergirded on historical and theoretical levels. Kentwell is currently working to bring in psychoanalysis, affect theory, and memory studies into his work along with Driscoll and Perkinson's writings.

This paper was written as kentwell's undergraduate "senior" history thesis during their junior year at Muhlenberg College. Kentwell investigates in a purposefully fractured way how various religions practiced by West African peoples were transformed through groanful pain of the Middle Passage. The paper examines the ways in which the religion of Vodou was created by enslaved people in Haiti and begins to consider how the religion promoted a coherent community.

This paper is an early attempt of mine to write 'with' Cathy Park Hong's work while undergoing a racial and gendered reckoning, through a trans-formation in my life. This is my first attempt at integrating my poetic responses to both academic texts and personal trauma. This will be a stable in my upcoming thesis.
