Beth Rous
I am a leader, professor, and policy researcher with over three decades of experience helping public agencies develop policies to support programs for young children and their families.
My career has given me the opportunity to work with and lead colleagues from more than 30 federal and state agencies who create and implement public pre-K, child care, Head Start, early intervention, and home visiting programs. The programs have spanned a number of practice areas including quality rating, professional development, transition, and accountability systems.
My career is built on the firm foundations of partnership, collaboration, transparent communication, courage, and astute policy acumen. I enjoy nothing more than working within highly motivated teams with the common vision and goal of improving the lives of young children and their families.
Improving opportunities for women to attain and advance in leadership positions is a passion of mine. I seek to turn decades of hard-learned lessons in human services, academia, and government into the advice and mentoring that helps aspiring and current women leaders leap over the gendered tripwires that exist in the world.
