La presente comunicación tiene por objetivo analizar una expresión más del apoyo de Mallorca a la Monarquía. En concreto, se tratará la construcción de una galeota en la atarazana de Palma de Mallorca durante el quinquenio 1637-1642. El texto trata de vincular la guerra con las dinámicas económicas, políticas y sociales de esta población mediterránea. Abstract: Majorcan kingdom's participation in the Thirty Years' War has been reduced to military drafts and plunder. This communication aims to analyse another contribution made by Majorca to Spanish Monarchy. In particular a vessel construction carried on in the Palma de Mallorca's dockyard between 1637 and 1642. The text tries to link the war with economics, politics and social local dynamics.

Abstract One emphasised subject was the fact that Palma had regular difficulties to achieve cereals. The aim of the present article, following classical studies on the subject and using archive's sources, treats the Palma's population's evolution and the effects of bad harvests and famines in the urban mortality during the 17 th century.
