Wind force is a resource with a high potential through which green energy can be obtained with no negative impact on the environment. Different turbine typologies have been developed, which can convert the wind force into mechanical and electrical energy through turbine rotational motion. Starting from the classic vertical-axis SAVONIUS rotor model, other models have been designed, which, according to the numerical studies and experimental test results, show higher performance parameters in operation. Such models present specific rotor blade geometries to achieve better operational results in terms of shaft torque and generated power. The paper aimed to study the vibrational response that may occur, due to human activities or natural phenomena (earthquakes), at the inertial platform of the Laser + Gamma building within the ELI-NP complex. The large mass of the platform, 54,000 tons in full condition, must ensure that the experiments are carried out without being disturbed by unwanted vibrations. The laser and gamma beam must be very precisely positioned and the shocks and vibration from the external environment must be damped or absorbed. This paper aims to study the vibration of the large inertial platform from the Laser + Gamma buil... more This paper aims to study the vibration of the large inertial platform from the Laser + Gamma building that is part of the ELI-NP project. In order to ensure a precisely positioned radiation beam, it is necessary that the shocks and vibrations coming from the external environment are damped or absorbed until they reach the work installations. This is ensured by the platform on which the devices are positioned, a platform that is supported on spring batteries and shock absorbers. A rigid body model is developed in this regard and a comparison with the finite element model of the concrete platform is conducted. It has been found that low vibration modes can be obtained with the help of the rigid model, which also has the advantage of simplicity and very little time is required to obtain results.

Starting from general moving differential equation the study determines particular coupled moving for two different type of symmetries: with a vertical axis and a vertical-longitudinal plane of symmetry of rigid body. The harmonical excitations taken into consideration are: couples (e.g. pitching and rolling), eccentric and inclined force. The author of the study determines the analytical expressions of the amplitudes of forced vibrations and of the transmitted forces to the foundation trough the linear viscous-elastic bearings by the rigid body excited with harmonical forces and couples, pointing out the influences of structural parameters of the system (masses, mass inertia, elasticities, aso.).

It gives the physical and mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of the dynamics of one degree of freedom mechanical systems and shows the diagrams of the curves of different characteristics (amplitude, displacement, power) function of the polynomial coefficients of damping. It also shows the variation of the same characteristics function of the frequency of the harmonic force of excitation. The numerical simulation has done with the data of real technological equipment: an industrial conveyor driven by inertial vibrator which has tested in site by the specialists of The Research Centre of Machines, Mechanic and Technological Equipments - MECMET.
