The use of video for teaching draws the student's
attention in order to get him involved and
interact, however, both the video and the
audience, are subject to different
interpretations, in this sense, the role of the
teacher is fundamental to direct students to
understand and capture the information to be
transmitted. With this, it is possible to bridge the
gap between environmental studies and the
audio visual resource, using the latter as a tool to
raise students' awareness, awakening their
critical thinking to issues of environmental
impacts. Therefore, this work aimed to associate
the use of information and communication
technology with critical environmental
education regarding issues of environmental
impacts generated by solid waste. The research
consisted of the presentation of two
documentaries referring to garbage for high
school students, associated with debates about
the same and environmental issues, in order to
integrate the use of ICTs with environmental
education, with the result that Environmental
Education has arrived at the result when well
articulated, it as positive effects on teaching.
