Dr. Moreno has a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan; a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF); and a Ba. in Electronics Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA). He holds a joint appointment as a Professor of Management Information Systems in Faculdades Ibmec and Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Brazil, as well as visiting position at the German Graduate School of Management and Law (GGS). He was the head of the undergraduate program in Business Administration of Faculdades Ibmec until 2010, and the head of the undergraduate program in Information Systems until 2005. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on Strategic Information Systems, Business Process Management, and Multivariate Data Analysis. Dr. Moreno has published more than 40 papers in international conferences proceedings and peer-reviewed journals, and advised over 36 Masters theses. He has also been involved in consulting and executive education activities for organizations such Ernst & Young Terco, Petrobras, Bradesco Seguros, SHV, Endesa and the United Nations Development Programme. His research interests are centered on two main topics: the impact of information systems on organizations and their members, and the effective design and management of business processes. Lately, he has done research on the influence of knowledge-related, managerial and IT resources and capabilities on the performance of business processes and firm competitiveness. In 2012, he was awarded a research grant by Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ) to study the antecedents of innovativeness and competitiveness of micro and small software developers in Rio de Janeiro.
