Abraham Rubin
I am a scholar of literature, religion and intellectual history with a special interest in Jewish-autobiographical narratives of conversion and apostasy. Since completing my PhD in comparative literature at the CUNY Graduate Center I have held postdoctoral positions at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (The Martin Buber Society of Fellows), Lawrence University in Wisconsin and Goethe University, Frankfurt. I joined the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Dayton in Ohio as an assistant professor in August 2022. My monograph, Conversion and Catastrophe in German-Jewish Émigré Autobiography, is under contract with the University of Toronto Press.
