Posting About Fictional Women Is The Only Way To Escape Samsara
This is a sideblog dedicated to recommending, reviewing, and liveblogging media that has prominent and well-written female characters or primarily female casts.
What this is not about: deciding what media is feminist, cataloging good f/f representation, making a masterlist of all female-driven narratives. I am here to provide you with nothing more than my own subjective opinions. If you have any interest in making your own similar lists or blog, please feel free.
Masterlist
- This will eventually contain a catalog of every recommendation i’m making with a brief pitch, alongside linking to any longer and more formalized review/recommendation posts i’ve posted. Currently being updated with short pitches and additional notes.
- There is also a log here of media i’ve gone through for this blog but do not consider worth recommending, with links to relevant liveblogs/reviews, and a list of media i have on the back burner for future consideration.
- Best viewed on desktop, as a lot of additional context is added using Google Drive’s ‘Comment’ feature.
Liveblog Archive
- For liveblogs I’ll be using the tag structure 'lb [franchise name]’. This should allow people to block all tags beginning with 'lb’ if you wouldn’t like to see any liveblogging, or to block specific liveblogs if you should so choose
- The archive above will link to all current and past liveblogs I’ve done here. I won’t be liveblogging everything nor will there be a lot of consistency/regularity to it. This is the most casual/off the cuff form of posting you can expect to see here.
Media Log
- This tag is for general checking-in on what I’ve been up to with media outside of liveblogs. Will most likely be infrequent.
Recommendations
- Longform posts to pitch the media I think you all should give a try. As a rule, these will not contain spoilers as they’re intended to convince people to experience the source material for themselves
- None have been written for this blog yet. I’d like to write one up for Teppu soon and will update this pin with the tag link once I have it
Reviews
- Longform dissection of my thoughts on the good And the bad a piece of media has to offer. Unlike recommendations, these will have full spoilers so I don’t have to talk around anything I’m critiquing or praising.
- Once again, nothing here yet but I’ll be updating this post when there is.
