Thing
From Transformers Wiki

Crossovers
- Thing (Marvel,
2010)
- Crossovers Thing was to have been a retool of the second Hulk mold with a new head, transforming from an orange and blue robot into a bulldozer. This toy was presented by Hasbro during San Diego Comic-Con 2009, but failed to materialize at retail.
- It's feasible that the Thing was the intended character for this mold rather than the Hulk; the robot mode is riddled with Thing-like cracks, and molded details on the figure's waist that seem to be space for a Fantastic Four logo are left flat and empty on Hulk. The head is just a straight reuse of the first Hulk, likely a cost-cutting measure due to change of character late in the design process. Since Hulk is a more popular character, Hasbro probably figured another version of Hulk would sell better than one of the Thing.
Notes
- Thing was featured on the cover of Transformers #22, celebrating Marvel Comics' 25th anniversary.
- The bios of the Space Mini-Con Team from Armada were based on three members of the Fantastic Four, with Payload taking inspiration from the Thing.[citation needed]
- Aaron Archer apparently envisioned Smokescreen as being like the Thing.[1]
- Similarly, creators of Transformers Animated likened Bulkhead to the Thing.
- Over the years, the Thing was voiced by several Transformers actors, consisting of Gregg Berger, Dave Boat, Joey Camen, Sean Chiplock, Scott McNeil, Brian Dobson, Andy Milder and Fred Tatasciore.
