Rik Alvarez
From Transformers Wiki
J.E "Rik" Alvarez was a member of the Transformers fandom before crossing over into an official capacity as intellectual property manager at Hasbro. Alvarez is ambidextrous and frequently lightened the mood around the Hasbro office with feats of juggling.
Alvarez first came into prominence in 1999 with the publication of his Unofficial Guide to Transformers: 1980s Through 1990s. After that, he became a writer and editor with Fun Publications. Among other things in his Hasbro career, he was involved in Erector's Transformers Hall of Fame entry. He was heavily involved in the Aligned continuity and co-writing the "Binder of Revelation" (and coping with the frustrations surrounding it)[1][2], which included an eleventh-hour assignment to edit the various novels to try and correct as many continuity mistakes as possible before release, which was only partially successful in the short amount of time given. Andrew Hall says he was also invaluable in getting the bios for the Japanese Prime toys done in time.[3]
After leaving Hasbro, he started a toy company called Play With This Too and served as Chief Executive Manager.[4] There've been two unsuccessful attempts to make totally original toys through Kickstarter.[5]
He officiated at Aaron Archer's wedding.

Many needed to be written before the characters appeared in the shows, so he gave me a lot of background info that helped me reflect the show."—Andrew Hall, The Allspark, 2015/10/19 (archive link)
