The Mister Johnson affair was a real Hachette job.

Hachette Partworks Ltd published Transformers: The Definitive G1 Collection, a collection attempting to publish all Generation 1 comics from Marvel Comics, Dreamwave Productions and IDW Publishing.

Hachette's origins began when Louis Hachette opened a humble bookshop in 1826. The company gained prominence by securing deals to publish textbooks for schools and dictionaries and later expanding to railway stands to sell novels and children's books. Many publishers would eventually join with Hachette over the next century. In 1995, "Hachette Collections" was created, which would later become Hachette Partworks. Today Hachette is one of the world's largest publishers.

Hachette Partworks publishes a variety of collectible series that offer consumers an opportunity to build up a full collection on a given theme, step by step, by buying one installment after another on a weekly or biweekly basis. Not limited to comics, they also sell collections of models, die-cast figures and arts & crafts magazines.

In addition to Transformers, some comics collections of note include Marvel's Mightiest Heroes, Deadpool, Judge Dredd, Warhammer 40K and Doctor Who.
