Alt-Modes is a line-up of blind-boxed figures released under the Generations line, beginning in 2016. The figures change from super deformed robots, with large plume-like Autobot or Decepticon faction symbols you can flip up on top of their heads, into similarly "chibi" alternate modes with their robot heads still on top. Characters in the line are firmly rooted in Generation 1.

Notes
- Information about this subline, and the specifics of the various cases and their "official" labeling and release order, is hard to come by. Even though Hasbro solicited them to retailers, and in fact there exist official stock photos for all four known cases that even depict all the toys contained in a case on the outside of the display case, just which case is supposed to be which can only be deduced via common sense based on what scarce official information exists. The cause for this is that Hasbro calls three cases "Series 1" on their packaging and assigned all cases the same product code number and UPC barcode, and as a result, many online retailers around the world use the packaging stock photos randomly, oftentimes even directly contradicting the stock photos of the individual toys supposedly contained in a case used for those very same listings by the same online retailers. Assuming that Hasbro switches out old toys for new toys with each case, the one with Prowl and Ultra Magnus came first, followed by the one that swaps them out for Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, and the one that replaces Nemesis Prime, Thundercracker and Skywarp with Smokescreen, Acid Storm and Sunstorm came third. The only case that can be easily placed is the case officially labeled "Series 2", which replaces the regular Optimus Prime with his silver redeco, Smokescreen with Bluestreak, and Acid Storm and Sunstorm with Hound and Sideswipe.
- An early working name for this price point was apparently the very descriptive "Big Heads", which is (obviously) still used by some retailers around the world.
