Affluous

Affluous is a Monsterbot from the Cyberverse continuity family.

The only thing between me and that guy is motivation; I just need to pull up my socks. Oh wait, I don't have socks.

Of all the "Energon Masters", Supreme Leader Affluous has more energon than anyone else and he will go to great lengths to keep it that way. He is known for hosting elaborate parties in which everyone must donate energon and is highly respected by his followers.

Upon Cybertron's restoration, Affluous took the opportunity to have Teknicus build a device that would prevent transformation, separating those in robot mode and those in beast mode into two distinct classes. Those in robot mode, which included Affluous himself, were dubbed "Energon Masters" and took control of all energon in the area while the Monsterbots in beast mode were dubbed "bugs" and left to scrounge for scraps just as they had before Cybertron's restoration.

When Bumblebee arrived at one of his parties looking for Grimlock, he was appalled to see how Affluous wasted one million energon cubits in a water fountain show. Before Affluous could fully react, the party's singer Operatus was suddenly paralyzed by what Affluous recognized as "the shocks" and had to be taken away by his guards. When Bumblebee tried to transform and leave, he contracted the shocks and was also taken away be Affluous' guards. Upon being thrown in a prison cell, Bumblebee demanded Affluous let him go. Affluous refused, saying that letting Bumblebee go would change things and he liked things the way they were.

Soon afterwards, Grimlock arrived with a group of bugs led by Repugnus to overthrow the Energon Masters and take the energon that was rightfully theirs. Affluous demanded that his guards get the bugs away from their energon only to come face-to-face with Grimlock. The escaped Bumblebee showed up and announced to everyone that the Energon Masters and bugs were the same. Affluous rejected the notion, saying the two groups had nothing in common, but Teknicus spoke out, saying that he had built the machine made to cause shocks for Affluous. Bumblebee then destroyed the machine and all Monsterbots began to transform from robot to beast mode and vice versa. Affluous was furious and still refused to accept that he was the same as the bugs but instinct soon took over and he unwittingly transformed into his beast mode.
