Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study is to bring forward the ground realities regarding the practice of counselling which was considered to be a sine qua non under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. The study reveals the actuality of how counselling remains an alien concept to the victims of marital abuse indicating that counselling is rarely done by the Protection Officers and as a consequence, the victims remain both ignorant as well as fail to reap the benefit of this method of resolution. This article was written in the wake of India's termination of its BITs in 2017 with several nations, including at least 22 EU countries, as a consequence of which new investments in and from concerned nations would no longer be governed by the investment treaties assigned between the Governments. However, India released a joint interpretative statement intending that the then existing treaties with nations that were unconcluded would be aligned with the 2015 Model BIT Text. Therefore, touching on this issue, two specific provisions from the 2015 Text were examined in light of their impact on foreign inbound investments in the Indian subcontinent.

This chapter deals with the contemporary position of the diplomatic bag. Based on its regulation in the VCDR, the author examines the legal situation and the chief controversies it involves. That includes analysing the shift in power balance from the receiving countries, pre-VCDR, to the sending countries with regards to the bag, and between the developed nations greater ability to discern the contents of the bag vis-à-vis the developing nations. The author then provides solutions on how the balance of national interest and inviolability of the bag can be restored by having a preliminary screening or checking and also through an independent body vested with power to walk the line of this delicate balance by determining whether there is a strong reason for a full screening of the diplomatic bag or for sending it back to its place of origin.

There has been yet another amendment to the Companies Act, 2013 way of Companies (Amendment) Act of 2015 which ultimately received the presidential assent on 25th May, 2015 and published in official Gazette of India on 26th May, 2015. The recently assented bill of Companies (Amendment) Act, 2015 made some imperative changes in the Principal Act such as the definition of a 'Public Company' and a 'Private Company'; making common seal optional, escalating the duties of Auditors, provisions of Related party Transactions, etc. This article throws light on such changes made vide this Amendment Act of 2015.
