Holotype: BMNH 50.1327, adult ♀, skin and skull.

Type locality: “Mts. above Taibutu [=Saibutu] village, Faralulu district [=Awabula District], West Fergusson Island, SE. New Guinea [=Papua New Guinea], 2,000-3,000 ft [=610-915 m].”
