Tajuddin Ahmad (Bengali: তাজউদ্দীন আহমদ; (23 July 1925 – 3 November 1975) was the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and one of the leaders of the freedom struggle . He served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 . Tajuddin Ahmad played an important role in the formation of the first government of Bangladesh during the liberation war, which is better known as " Mujibnagar Government ". After independence, he served as the Finance Minister of Bangladesh till 1974. After Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's family was killed in 1975, he along with three other national leaders were imprisoned in the old Dhaka Central Jail . Old Dhaka Central JailHe was assassinated on November 3, 1975 while in custody.[1]
