Ronald Levin Carter (born May 4, 1937)[1] is an American jazz double bassist. He appeared in over 2,220 recording sessions, making him the most-recorded jazz bassist in history.[2]
Carter has three Grammy Awards.[3] Carter is also a cellist who has recorded many times on that instrument.[4]
