Jōdo Shinshū

Shinran the founder of Jodo Shinshu

  Jōdo Shinshū (浄土真宗, "The True Essence of the Pure Land Teaching"[1]) is a school of Pure Land Buddhism. Shinran founded it in the 1200s.

Jodo Shinshu is the biggest Buddhist group in Japan.[2]
