Area code 860 is a telephone area code in the state of Connecticut, United States. It covers most of the state, except for the southwestern part, which is covered by area code 203. It was created on August 28, 1995. It was split from area code 203, which originally covered all of Connecticut. The area code covers Hartford, New Britain, Bristol, Middletown, and New London. It was overlaid by 959 in 2014.
