In this study, a study was made on the Web of Science index by using the words “game-based learni... more In this study, a study was made on the Web of Science index by using the words “game-based learning,” “video games,” “game-based pedagogy,” “digital games,” “gamification,” and “game.” The study was carried out with data obtained from the SCI-E, SSCI, and A&HCI indices covering the years 1975-2021. A total of 1,376 articles were reached in accordance with the inclusion criteria. Retrieved articles were subjected to bibliometric analysis. In line with the relevant analysis, the most influential authors, journals, institutions, and articles were revealed under the title “games in education.” In addition, based on the articles examined within the scope of this research, a co-word network structure was visualized in terms of cooperation among institutions and authors. As a result of the research, the trends in topics related to games were revealed, and the changes in this area are subsequently discussed.

The quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was used. The research was conducted with 30 students. The data were obtained by using the Attitude Scale towards Mathematical Problem-Solving, the Problem-Solving Skills and Strategies Questionnaire, the Mathematical Self-Efficacy Scale and the Mathematical Connection Self-Efficacy Scale. Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov Smirnov, Shapiro Wilk, related samples t-test, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test, independent samples t-test and Mann Whitney U tests. This study aims to examine the change in the teachers’ beliefs about the training, presented as a... more This study aims to examine the change in the teachers’ beliefs about the training, presented as an online education for the children’s literature and mathematics teaching to pre-service pre-school, primary and elementary teachers. The participants of the research consisted of 54 pre-service teachers who were selected by purposive sampling method. A weak experimental pre-test post-test design without a control group was used in the study. The data collection tools were the belief scale for the integration of mathematics and children's literature, mathematics teaching self-efficacy belief, and mathematics literacy self-efficacy scales. The study findings revealed that the training enabled the pre-service teachers to gain positive inputs within the context of all the variables. Besides, the pre-service teachers’ scores varied across their branches. In addition, the training was identified to have a significant effect on the difference scores obtained from all factors except for the...

ÖNSÖZ Matematik çocuklar için korkulan derslerin başında gelmektedir. Oysaki matematik korkulan bir dersten öte hayatı anlamaya yarayan, eğlenceli ve yaratıcı bir süreçtir. Bu durumun ortaya çıkmasında en önemli etken matematiğin günlük hayattan kopuk sadece kural ve prosedürlerden oluştuğu algısıdır. Bu algının kırılabilmesi için matematik öğretiminin sürecinin anlamlı ve eğlenceli bir hale getirilmelidir. Bu kitap ülkemizdeki öğretim yenilik ve gelişmelere bağlı olarak yenilenen 2018 matematik öğretim programı dikkate alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu kitabın temel amacı güncel öğrenme ve öğretme kuramlarını dikkate alarak öğrencilerin daha aktif olduğu, matematiksel kavram ve genellemeleri ezberlemek yerine içselleştirdiği ve matematik öğrenim sürecinden haz alabileceği etkinlik örnekleri sunabilmektir. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a teacher-training project, which was supported... more The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a teacher-training project, which was supported by Turkey Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). This project is called Using Children’s Literature in Teaching Mathematics and Sample Applications and was funded under Innovative Education Practices Support Program. It was conducted from 25th of June to 2nd of July in Turkey. The study group of the research was made up of 16 classroom teachers and 16 secondary school mathematics teachers, total 32 teachers from different cities in Turkey. The applicants of the research were selected via random sample method. It lasted for 8 days and a lot of professionals from different fields carried out a lot of workshops about integration children’s literature and mathematics education in multidisciplinary ways. It has a semi experimental research design. From the findings of the research we can conclude that it had a significant and positive impact on teachers’ creativity fostering behaviors, curriculum enrichment skills and differentiation skills.
