What is the European School Education Platform?


The European School Education Platform is the meeting point for the school education community working in early childhood, primary, secondary and initial vocational education. The platform is also home to eTwinning, the online community for schools in Europe.

 

This platform is free of charge for all users. Here you can:
 

  • Stay informed with new content published every week, including opinion pieces by experts, news articles, interviews and examples of best practice.
  • Find resources such as publications, podcasts teaching materials created as part of European projects, eTwinning project kits and lesson plans.
  • Discover examples of inclusive education provided by the Toolkit for school success.
  • Make your opinion count by taking part in surveys.
  • Plan and enrich your Erasmus+ projects by finding a wide range of opportunities through the course catalogue and partner search.
  • Develop your skills and your teaching practice through free online courses and webinars. For more information about the different professional development formats and pedagogical approaches, please read the Continuous Professional Development Framework
  • Keep up to date by subscribing for the monthly newsletter.

 

The platform is available in all EU languages plus several non-EU languages, thanks to eTranslation, the European Commission’s machine translation service. 

 

To use and benefit fully from all services, we recommend that you register. For this you need to have an EU Login, the European Commission's (free) user authentication service.

What is eTwinning?


eTwinning is a community for schools, an online space where schools can collaborate. eTwinning provides a safe and free platform for teachers and pupils across Europe to work together on projects, discuss in online groups, and develop their professional skills.

 

As a validated member of the eTwinning community, you can:
 

  • Take part in collaborative projects with other teachers across many countries in Europe.
  • Join online seminars and learning events (short and intensive online courses).
  • Share ideas and best practices in moderated thematic groups.
  • Develop your skills through online and onsite workshops and conferences.
  • Get recognition for your work through quality labels, European eTwinning prizes, and the eTwinning School label.

How is the platform funded?


The European School Education Platform and the eTwinning community are European Commission initiatives, funded by Erasmus+, the European programme for education, training, youth and sport. The platform is coordinated by external contractors, under service contracts with the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

 

The eTwinning community is also supported by the National Support Organisations, funded by the Erasmus+ programme under grant agreements with EACEA.
