‫ Until the agricultural revolution, the history of the environment has been the history of humans. Since the beginning of the agricultural revolution, whenever man has been able to establish a better relationship with his surrounding environment and create less disturbances in it, the survival of this species has been ensured more easily. Throughout history, different peoples have used different ways to coexist with nature. Different methods of coexistence with nature were written down after some time and mankind began to teach them to their children. What is now available as agricultural heritage in historical books is a part of this human effort to preserve their life by preserving knowledge and passing it on to the next generation. Meanwhile, due to the special conditions of the Iranian plateau, Iranians have unique ways of living in this special climate, and they have tried to write and publish the ways of preserving their lives in the form of various books. One of the books in which this people has specially talked about the knowledge of agriculture and ways of working with the environment among Iranians, is the book Marafat Falahat/Agricultural Knowledge is attributed to Abdullah Birjandi (934AH/1528), a prominent astronomer and mathematician of 16th-century. Birjandi has written about important topics for farmers, such as introducing the climate; different kinds of legumes, grains, trees; pest and diseases managements, etc. In this article, with a special reference to Historical criticism method, attempted to point out its 12 chapters. The authors believe that reviewing the methods of communication of the predecessors with the environment can be a useful step in better understanding the history of the environment.
