feeling very frustrated about the ways people are talking about hurricane Milton. lots of needless, borderline fear mongering language with very little actual helpful information.

if a category 3 or even category 4 hurricane directly hits Tampa, Florida, the insurance market will collapse overnight and it will be an unimaginable, complete catastrophe that i'm not sure the United States is capable of handling on top of ongoing Helene recovery. keep anyone who has the misfortune of living in Florida in your thoughts because this particular storm is going directly over very, very warm gulf of mexico waters and has the potential to be a monster.

tropical storm milton is now hurricane milton and is predicted to make landfall on the western coast of Florida ahead of schedule between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. it is strengthening at a rapid pace. one of the largest evacuation preparations in Florida history are currently underway.

i don't know how many people actually follow my blog from the Tampa, Florida area but i would suggest getting out of there as soon as possible. the barometic pressure of milton took a massive dip to 978mb and if this thing continues to gain momentum as it traverses the warmer and warmer gulf waters, it is going to absolutely obliterate Tampa Bay if it hits head on and the storm surge is going to be Katrina-levels of bad.

if you have any skeptical family in the path of this storm, you need to be doing everything in your power to convince them to get out of the way immediately. Tampa has not been hit by a hurricane in over 100 years and the infrastructure is not going to hold up to this level of destruction coming in at this speed.
